Not sure if this has been reported elsewhere, but the BBC website has said that LASK v Man Utd on Thursday 12/3, and Chelsea v Bayern Munich on Thurs 18/3 will both be played 'Behind closed doors'. It will be interesting to see if TV will cover either/both games, and whether or not they will add their own sound effects. Without wishing to make light of a serious situation, is the idea of a televised match, with no fans, the ultimate outcome of SKY, BT, etc paying the PL vast amounts of money, with no thought for moving days/times etc to suit themselves, and bugger the fans?
Sky will absolutely hate it if they have to present the trophy to Liverpool in an empty Anfield. Good luck telling people not to congregate outside the ground too.
I'm watching Borussia Monchengladbach v Cologne (spelt 'Koln'), being played in an almost empty stadium. It doesn't seem real, somehow, as the only sounds are the players shouting, and the two sets of substitutes, trainers, etc, giving encouragement. If VAR is needed, no-one will be worried that the crowd doesn't know what is going on, as anyone who cares is watching the game on TV, anyway.
A Juve player has tested positive for COVID-19. Get your fill of football now...it might be a minute before we see it again.
Now then, who is for stopping the prem and restarting after COVID19 is over with the current top 6 in play offs for the champions? Liverpool can be seeded obviously
Yeah, I think we may just get through this weekend's fixtures, but wouldn't be entirely surprised if some do get called off on Friday.
We are living in unprecedented times. With lock downs & cancellations. I've never known anything like this. **** is about to get real.
