No place for JWP in the England squad

Probably because he’s from a “small” team. He’s got Henderson and Dier FFS

 

Meh, it will do him some good. And more motivation to aim for the Nations League squad.

 

Not sure we need all 3 of Dier, Delph and Hendo.

Henderson has always been overrated, Delph is even worse but always makes the England squad??? ..and Dier is overrated for at international level ....bigger club bias at its best.

 

Originally thought Delph might be in for full back cover but there's 5 in the squad!

 

Delph is there because is plays for Man City ......really, really hope we get a freekick in around the box and royally **** up ....and then the commentator says “JWPs would have put that in”

 

Well that’s disappointing. Southgate is picking basically the same squad as he always does.

Extra full backs/Delph/Hendo-Dier.

He made mistakes picking the World Cup squad and has done the same again.

 

Shocking to leave out JWP. There maybe seems to be a clique still (always remember James Beattie being a little bemused by it).

I think his general improvement has also not been considered by lazy journalists (though I think noted here) as well. Just concentrating on the free kicks to the exclusion of his overall contribution in recent games.

 

I'd certainly have more faith in JWP performing well over the next 3 weeks than Delph.
