As I said before, the club are responsible for the safety of everyone in the ground, so they will be punished more severely than just a fine.
A supporter simply should never be able to get that far... this was a local derby too where the security should be even tighter. It's not like Brum haven't had this problem in Villa games before...
The only way you could stop this is the return of fencing...and I wouldn't like that to happen. Not only on safety grounds, but because it insults the huge majority of fans. I think fencing actually makes behaviour worse....trust people and they behave well. We must remember how many fans attend games and compare that to the number of serious incidents.
For me, he'll rightly get a life ban and if he's got any previous will probably go to jail as well. I do think Brum should face some punishment too though as there's no way he should have got that far, I can think of a couple of occasions that fans have invaded the pitch there when Villa have visited so you'd think that they would be extra vigilant.
My wife asked yesterday if I thought they’d go back to fencing. I said there are 96 reasons why they never should and never will.
Stewards are usually not built for speed and are definitely not dressed for it. Unless the pitch invader is running from several rows back and is spotted he has the advantage when clearing a low hoarding over an older man hampered by clothing suitable for deep sea fishing.
He wasn't, obviously. Not been arrested apparently (unlike previously reported), but don't know what the club will do about it. Suspect that rather depends on how long he's been there and how respected he is.
Surely he should lose his job regardless of how long he's been there? Doesn't exactly set an example to the fans.
Clearly takes a kick at him ........stewards are meant to maintain order not start things off .....so minimum of being sacked and banned for me , can’t go round kicking people.
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/live-updates-paul-mitchell-appears-15953653 Paul Mitchell sentenced to 14 weeks in Prison and a 10 year all football stadium ban.
Needed a sharp punishment to prevent other people emulating this for their moment in the spotlight. Also banned for life from Birmingham FC after 20 years with a season ticket. Partner expecting their second child. And what about his job? Moron. Apparently his family have been threatened and left their home...no excuse for that. All part of the same hysteria that pervades society these days.
Am I the only one thinking that 7 weeks inside might be worth a shot at Adam in just under a months time
