I couldn't disagree more with the idea Poch would fail there. He's dramatically improved every club he's been at so far. Why would he not do that at a bigger club? Please don't buy into the "he hasn't won anything" trope - Sven has won loads. Who would you rather have in charge? He's managed Espanyol, Saints and Spurs. He's made Spurs into a Champions League club. That's winning, given the resources at his disposal.

But he probably should have won something by now.

Not what magic is referring too I think but more will the bigger egos buy into it etc.

Fwiw I think it'd be a poor move for him and he'd be better off trying to get in at United.

He has improved every club he has been at, playing a certain brand of football that massively requires the players to buy into his ideas. I have always thought that he has said something along the lines of "play this way, we will get results and you will be considered among the best" to players like Alli, J-Rod, Lallana, Trippier, Kane etc. Eg players who weren't at the top top level already.

To implement his system effectively (as I'm sure you are aware) the players need to be incredibly fit otherwise the press doesn't work. For the players listed above I can see them all buying into it, as they see it as their way to the top and big moves, big contracts, potentially winning things. For the majority of players at Real/Utd they are already at the top, have already won things and are already on mega money. What incentive is there to put in all the extra work to get to a fitness level to play Poch's system? I think a lot of them will have the attitude that they have got to the top playing a certain way, the manager should implement that style rather than his own one which requires them to spend more time getting even fitter.

Poch thrives with making "nobodies" household names in football. Utd and Real aren't going to accept having "nobodies" playing for them whilst Poch is making them household names. They need the big names for commercial reasons and the fact that they are the biggest clubs in the world, and as I mentioned I can't see the big names being happy spending an extra hour a day doing sprint drills.

I may be doing the players/Poch a big disservice and you may be right and he will improve the top teams, or the players attitude towards him might be better than I am expecting. We will probably get a chance to see at some point soon anyway.

Plus he has never won anything, which is a sure sign he will fail. <diva>

I see both sides with this. I mean it is Spurs, they have no divine right to be winning stuff. But on the other hand with the squad assembled by Poch and Levy, you would think they should have won a trophy by now. We have been to more finals since he has been there ffs And for all the ridicule Arsenal have been gotten in the last few Wenger seasons and how Spurs are now the better side in North London they have won 2 (?) in Poch's time there.

You make a very good point Magic, and I tend to agree (hence my comment about being given enough time at RM to Fats) - it would be my only concern at a bigger club. I thought you were saying he wasn't 'good enough' for that kind of club, which I heartily disagree with. It's just that he'll have to deal with more tossers at those places! Still, the proof would be in the pudding. If he got in workers like, I dunno, Alexis Sanchez, as opposed to the Pogba's of this world, I think he'd do a stellar job.

Poch has achieved a minor miracle at spurs.

With their budget; they should be nowhere near top 4. Look at their previous finishes before he arrived, from 16th-8th. The bloke is a fantastic manager and any top side would be extremely lucky to get him, IMO.

I honestly think when he leaves, they will skip back to the Everton/Leicester/West Ham sort of range again. Unless their new stadium massively boosts the amount they can pay. What other manager could get that squad so high, so consistently?

Interesting though that Spurs fans still moan about the two big things that we were saying about him what, 4 and a half years ago?

It does make me think if he hasn't addressed that now then will we ever? Could be the difference between good and great...

What is there to dislike about Spurs? What is there to dislike about any club really, even the likes of Glasgow Rangers and Chelsea, despite their fair share of k***s who follow them.

    Whichever team Alli plays for.

Whichever club jose managers (for most).

For me it would be Lazio (fascist fans), and St Petersburg (rascist fans).

Don´t think Bilbao´s fans are rascist or fascist!! Fanatical, yes!! And left-leaning as they have alliances with Celtic and St Pauli.

Wasn't there a large group of them kicking off about Inaki Williams as he was the first black player to play for them? Also hard to say about racism when only people with Basque birth or blood are allowed to play for them

As for Spaish fans in general, they are gradually accepting the appearance of black players in their game. If they are rascist, it is largely passive. One of the best sets of supporters are those of Rayo Vallecano, a team from the suburbs of Madrid.
