Just another rant... But this time not about greed or elitism.... Away matches. Specifically why do away tickets go on sale so shortly before the game takes place? It's ridiculous. Its very inconsiderate to fans who travel by train with how expensive train tickets are and you need to book well in advance to get a reasonable price. The first home 7 pompey home games went on sale in July, why can't away games be sold that far in advance? Instead, Peteborough tickets are going on sale less than 2 weeks before the game, and about a week and a half when they go on general sale. But that's just one of many clubs that do it. It's like clubs are surprised that there will be fans from the away team wanting to attend and maybe even plan their journey more than a few days in advance. They know the date, they know fans will want to attend, what's the excuse for only selling tickets a week in advance??? Especially in League 1 or 2 where games are unlikely to be moved because of Sky.
It's the Champions League qualifying changes that have done for them, they'll never get that money back. I see Tammy Abraham went to Aston Villa. We should have signed him.
If you've been following the Son Heung-Min stuff, you may be interested to know South Korea v Japan has gone to extra time, but SK have just taken the lead
Nearly always down to the Police. Big difference between a team on a winning streak bringing 1,000+ compared to a team that lost a couple bringing 150. Also with your club (and Lincoln at the mo) the guaranteed high away following gets the police umming and ahhing about things.
Well the police should pull their finger out. It's fairly predictable what size crowd a club will bring, and for most clubs at least in league one or two, there's not going to be a huge difference when a club has won a few games or lost a few games. For example, wallsall will bring circa 500, Oxford circa 1000. It doesn't take until the week before the game to realise that.
A good win for Swans today. Away at Millwall, down to 10 men after 5 minutes, losing 1-0 after an hour but ended up winning 1-2
Not at this level. Last season Notts County took the whole away end at Lincoln. 1800+ They were winning at the time. This season they haven;t got off to a good start. They brought 923. Short trip from Nottingham to Lincoln yet they only sold half the stand.
Can any of you Saturday/Sunday footballers imagine turning up to play a game, only to find Paul Scholes is playing against you? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45385162
Marcos Alonso has pinched Fonte's cloak of invisibility. Of this I am now sure. A few times last season he got away with it, but yesterday against Bournemouth he should have had three god damn yellows! I want that damn cloak back. Bonkers how ref's don't see what he does, you'd think he'd be a marked man!
Okay, fair enough but clubs can always specify an initial allocation and sell more if they need to. The initial allocation could be based upon conversations with the police, and any additional allocation could also be based upon conversations with the police. It just seems like a mixture of disorganisation and/or laziness on the part of the clubs...
