Race starts at 14:10, so spending on how exciting it is, I reckon I’d have nodded off by about lap 20 #tooexcitedtosleepatnight #ich
He was a superb player for Dundee also - they reached the semi final of the European Cup in the 60`s. I`m sad that I never saw him play - his son played for Dundee in the 90`s, but not quite the same thing, but he was a tough act to follow !. RIP.
Spain appoint Luis Enrique as manager following Fernando Hierro’s resignation: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/44768397
I wonder if it would have been much different if they didn't can the snake 48hrs before the first game?
EFL confirm that our youth team will be kept apart from Pompey again in the Checkatrade trophy group stage and will do the same with Newcastle and Sunderland.
So one of the biggest names in women's football, with a long and illustrious history going back decades, Doncaster Belles has been forced to withdraw from the WSL 2 despite winning the league because of the spiraling costs as the FA make money the sole determinant of positions within a league, and it doesn't matter what a club has done previously to develop women's football. And they've been replaced by Crystal Palace. What a coincidence, they've been replaced by a side with a PL parent club. Not, you know, the club who actually came runners up in the promotion, Blackburn, but they're not a PL club so they don't matter. So it seems soon the only way to compete in the top two tiers will be to be bankrolled by your parent club. Give it a few years and the top tier or two of women's. football will be exclusively populated by teams who are being bankrolled by PL funds from their parent clubs. Yeovil, Millwall and Durham will all drop out due to costs. Heck, two of them nearly did this season anyway. The gulf between the haves and have-nots will reach astronomical proportions. It's already well on the way to that. Interesting tweet I saw:

At the start of the Spring Series in 2017 11th Feb 17 there were 20 teams in the top 2 tiers
516 days later 6 teams (30%) have since dropped out (1 every 86 days)

Doncaster Belles tier 3
Notts County folded
Oxford United tier 3
Sheffield tier 3
Sunderland tier 3
Watford tier 3
— Without Football Life is Boring (@WOFLIB) July 12, 2018
How exactly is that for the good of women's football?
http://www.espn.co.uk/football/arge...ona-takes-charge-of-belarus-club-dynamo-brest Maradona takes charge at Dynamo Brest....what can possibly go wrong? Maradona is like a cross between Trump and Paul Gascoigne....doesn't matter how good he was at football before, you wouldn't want him in charge of organising the half-time oranges at a non-league side.
God I've never wanted a match day thread so bad! How is that even possible in a WC year? Well, I'll put it down to the excitement of our early business, and that the window slam shuts early this term. Also the fact that England seem to have done a Heimlich maneuver on our sleeping national fanbase! Bonus. So, Burnley's season starts in nine days time when they face Aberdeen in the qualifying round of the EL. They play home and away, then they come to St Mary's on the first day of the season....which is on the Sunday. But, if they win against the Scottish opposition, there's another game sandwiched in there on the Thursday. So, our season starts in reality, next Thursday.......Come on the Clarets! (Not at all concerned that their fitness levels will be superior to ours, as we are now back to playing football rather than subduing our opponents into a stupor.) Its doesn't need to come home, its right round the corner! Yey.
I've been watching the cricket and just flicking over every now and again. Looked like we scored decent goals, but let them score too easily....their first goal was in first minute or two.
It's tough being the only person with access to the internet FA Website: Following Tuesday’s opener, the Young Lions will face Ukraine on Friday 20 July (4.30pm) and then France on Monday 23 July (4.30pm) in Vaasa, before the Finals head into the knock-out stage.
