Read something about that the other day. Ridiculous and another pointless rule which nobody asked for.
I thought England women were rather one dimensional tonight. If that was the men's they would be crucified for long-ball football.
This whole England campaign has very much reminded me of the last Mens Euros whereby everyone knows that on talent and depth of talent England are one of, if not the best, and yet across the tournament they don't really show it,...but somehow continue to scrape through the rounds often thanks to the strength in depth off the bench. Until they finally meet a team that is equally as talented across the squad...but who is also playing far, far better as a team. Funnily enough, the chances are high that as with the mens final, it'll be Spain again.
I remember Archer scoring a goal like that last season (can’t remember who against though). Didn’t play much after that
Their final ball was atrocious, not just in its delivery but also in the choices they made. Hemp was beating the FB all evening yet didn’t get in decent crosses or cut backs and the other side of the pitch was the same. I can’t remember if it was second half of normal time or extra time, but one incident in particular showed the poor choices being made. That was when we had just one striker just outside the 6 yard box, surrounded by defenders, and the ball was aimed at her instead of being pulled back to the edge of the box where we had TWO players running into open space for a clear shot on goal. The cross to the solo striker was easily cut out. I don’t know how “injured” James was but she spent 45 minutes walking around the pitch as if she was Messi, but without the dynamic play.
