And Boro are an inconsistent injury-hit mid-table team. The current Champ top 4 would have given Chelsea a proper go.
Not when they still need to go away to Chelsea, no. If they were still in at HT in the 2nd leg then yes fine but they weren't.
Fair enough. You and I have different definitions of 'no where near'. I'm pretty sure the people arguing this after Gillingham in August didn't think a championship side would reach the semis mind so the point stands regardless of whatever the result was last night.
Football League sides do reach the SF fairly frequently so it wasn't a big surprise to me that Boro did this year. But reaching the final is a different matter. I can only remember Bradford doing that as non-PL side in recent times. But I still maintain it would have been an unnecessary distraction for us this season and of course, would have most likely interfered with our unbeaten run.
Or made our unbeaten run longer I was thinking about Bradford and it's crazy to think that was 11 years ago now. They were a L2 side as well so what an incredible achievement that was.
Jose Mourinho is 61 today, Brendan Rodgers is 51. I'd suggest one of those has aged better than the other...
