I think Spalletti is going to get something out of this Italian team that have no real talisman and are on the verge of another betting scandal. He worked wonders for Napoli and it is only the ****ty owners that meant he didn’t stay to defend the title.
Whilst I think sacking Southgate now would be plain stupid, some of his tactics are woeful. Playing Trippier at left back is pretty poor as it is, but then playing Rashford ahead of him is just insane. Not only does Rashford offer nothing defensively, but he is so one-dimensional with his cutting in on his right foot that without an overlapping full back he is pretty much pointless... and Tripper just isnt going to do that on his weaker foot. He does make really amateur tactical mistakes.
