Actually, you can get civil GPS accuracy down to around 20cms, [which is 8ins and something many of us can see in our heads ], but that's still not accurate enough. Goal-line technology using triangulated cameras is deadly accurate. VARS will use multiple camera views at any speed deemed necessary, and at least they will have a far better chance of arriving at a good decision than the officials on the pitch at least 99% of the time.

 

To be fair it depends on who is gauging 8 inches...

Nice to see....all members of staff (from stewards up) are on a 10% promotion bonus at Brighton. They are apparently happily discussing what they are doing with it....varying from annual travel passes to kitchens and holidays. Nice touch.
