I hope the police had a genuine reason to fire the Taser. Although it's classified as a non-lethal weapon they can still be dangerous, as proven here.

Well I have read he has had a lot of problems since he retired. Drinking heavily and having trouble with the police before. Shame he died this way. RIP.

Yeah the quotes from his dad don't sound great.

"He was in a real state.

“I don’t know if he was drunk or on drugs but he was very agitated and his mind was upset.

"The last thing he said to me was ‘don’t move’ when the police came to the door.

“He was threatening and very upset. I didn’t call the police but someone else did.

Sounds like Dad isn't blaming the police.

    Eye witness:

"He [Atkinson] was sort of stumbling towards them and the police officer warned him that he would Taser him but he just seemed a bit perhaps inebriated and because he continued to step forward once or twice - non-threatening - they deployed the Taser."

These two stories are not well matched. I find "eye witnesses" often look for something more sensational than is really there.

Yeah, his dads version is slightly more believable.

Whatever happened, it was an accident. No one intended to kill him.

The eye witness account is a little less sensational. Unless they think the sensational angle is that Dalian was non threatening and the police were slightly heavy handed with the taser.
His son has already called for Ambulances to be deployed straight after a taser is fired. I guess we'll find out if he could have been saved if medical attention arrived sooner.

    Well City are through.

On that note I hope we don't draw Steaua!

Not sure how they can say that City has no history...obvious that Steau has no class.

Not sure whether it has been mentioned, but one manager we were linked with in the summer, has already been sacked by his club.
Vitor Pereira at Fenerbache. Dick Advocaat has replaced him.

SPORTS presenting star Charlie Webster is fighting for her life in a Rio de Janeiro hospital after contracting a rare strain of malaria on her way to the Olympics.

The Sun can reveal the 33-year-old Team GB ambassador remains in a coma on life support in the Brazilian city, with top doctors from Britain being consulted about her treatment.

    https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbi...in-of-malaria/

    Hope she pulls through.
