The letter or the way Lapras has messed it up?

 

Before I jump on the bandwagon I would have to know what this man has posted....reasonable criticism and disappointment (after all Charlton are a mess) or liable to a charge of libel in court. Sometimes people go overboard in social media and think they are above the law.

 

Individual has constructive meeting with club regarding abusive behaviour
The club can confirm that they sent a letter to one supporter relating to their continued inappropriate behaviour towards members of staff on Charlton’s official social media accounts and foul and abusive language captured on stadium cameras.

No other letters have been sent to supporters. A letter was sent to this individual as it was relating to a particular set of circumstances.

Exactly why I wanted facts before calling foul.

 

I still call foul. They picked out a random fan to send a message to the rest. There were loads of protests at the end of the season, not just one guy.

Charlton's phone lines are down for technical reasons. So can't take any questions....

It depends how they define inappropriate behaviour... Notice how in the letter they do not mention any potential criminal proceedings or warn that their behaviour could result in criminal charges. If it was something like racist, homophobic, etc language then surely it would be. It could be simply a way to discourage any criticism of the Charlton regime. After all, we all know the fans are just an inconvenient necessity.

 

Separating the issue entirely from the team involved, you can't abuse staff (as employers have a duty of care to their employees) and neither can you hide by saying that others have done the same. Not unknown for one person to be picked up and brought to court after a riot. It may turn out that it would have been better to say nothing, but would that have been cowardice or wisdom.

 

Charltons owners/ceo are right twats to be fair, I wish them luck in ousting them.
