Why is Ronaldo stood next to a statue of Niall Quinn?

Looks more like Milan Mandaric than Ronaldo [I'm kidding, but it's not a very good likeness to the player].

That Ronaldo bust made my day. I've no problem with a person being confident in their abilities, but he is one narcissistic twat.

Perhaps the most pertinent point is that in one game, two crucial decisions were made by the linesmen and both were incorrect. That in my opinion is the point, no discussions around video assistants, change will come, nothing to fear there. The linesmen got two goals wrong. They must be ashamed... and more relevantly, soon to be unemployed.

Not one for digging up old ground ~( <laugh> )~ but got told today that Fonte has conceded more penalties than any other player in Europe's top five divisions this season. Poor ego, that's got to hurt!

Neil Taylors challenge on Coleman is under investigation by fifa. As football fans, we have all witnessed incidents & accidents over the years, and sometimes players are just unlucky with coming togethers or bad landings. But, Neil Taylor seems either too clumsy or too enthusiastic to crunch someone. It wasn't that long ago he put Tadic's noise on the back of his head. He's had a few shockers, & I reckon he could be in hot water this time.

I know nothing of Neil Taylor, but having seen the Coleman tackle a few times, he's reckless with it. It's the worst circumstance - a 50:50 ball with both players coming from almost opposite directions. Coleman is very slightly ahead of the race and attempts to thump the ball, whereas Taylor is attempting to stop the forward progress of it. Both are 100% committed.
They say that if you 100% commit to a tackle and don't pull out, you are less likely to receive an injury. Nobody mentions that the other guy might be 100% committed too. So I always thought that was bollocks logic because the force is maximised with commitment. There's a time and a place for everything. According to the coaching manuals of old, Taylor has shown great commitment. He's not pulled out of it one jot. In this case, if he, or maybe even Coleman, had pulled out of the commitment, Coleman might still have an intact leg. What I'm saying is, I don't think there was an intent to injure, but the commitment, timing, position and circumstance brought it on.

There's a great irony, Taylor's tackle was reckless and mistimed, Bale's 'tackle' on O'Shea was as bad if not worse, but because there was less force O'Shea got very lucky.

    Agreed.
However, not that I can be sure, but I don't think Bale's 'tackle' was an actual tackle anyway. He was rushing in to meet a cross and stretching out his leg to meet the flight of the ball. But he was hugely late in the slow motion video. In real time he's missed it but it was worth the try. Just my opinion, of course.
If I've read it wrong, and it was a proper tackle, then he was lucky not to be sent off because his 'force' was every bit as strong as Taylor's. Though combined with O'Shea's it was a lot less than the Taylor/Coleman coming together. Refs are inevitably influenced by the resultant injuries of players coming together, in my opinion, rather than extracting the 'intent' in the incident. It's all rather difficult in real time and they have a hard enough job. Perhaps VARs will help here as well.

Agree with that as well. What goes against Taylor is, I can think of three really dangerous challenges just this season alone. I don't think he's going out there to 'do' people, but he has to take some responsibility for his actions. Reckless in the extreme.

As I'm constantly reading "get stuck in, don't give them time on the ball, make every 50 50 yours" I'm not surprised there is the odd accident, which I'm sure this was.
