I want L'ster to progress. Puts more pressure on their faltering league campaign.

Didn't see that coming. Would be a decent result if they can hold on.

Still think Mahrez is class personally.

    That was close <yikes>

Good result. I reckon they've got a proper chance.

Hopefully Sevilla's class will pull them through. I love Sevilla and their style of play. They are a wonderful team which is better than the individual parts. Leicester will be physically intimidating and up for it, but when it comes to class it has to be Sevilla.

PS: The most loved and adorable team in the whole wide world lost again. 2-1 to Valencia.

I reckon the whole Leicester squad has suffered a collective burnout. They sustained such a level of intensity for the whole of last season, and now they're all just half a yard slower, mentally as well as physically. It's as if every single one of them played just beyond the level of their ability last season, and this season they've all regressed.

That, plus each player was perfect for their particular jigsaw puzzle. Just one displacement [Kante] and the whole was diminished.

Both of those, and terrible recruitment. Kate has to win player of the year this time, or it's impossible for a non-attacker.

Absolutely. Kante was irreplaceable for Leicester. In fact I'll go further and say that he's the main factor in Chelsea running away with the league this season, Antonio Conte notwithstanding.

Leicester had such a great season last year where next to nothing went wrong, no major injuries, Vardy and Mahrez playing like men possessed, no extra games in Europe stretching a small squad and having the best defensive midfielder in the league.

This season Vardy is playing to a more realistic standard for his skill level. Selling Kante has exposed two ageing CB's and it's also stopped their counter attacking play which was so successful last year.

As Qwerty said, their recruitment policy has been dreadful too and having to play in Europe it's put a lot more pressure on their high energy counter attacking style.

With all the excellent comments made above about Leicester and last year to this year, losing ONE important piece of the jigsaw, small squad, etc,, I wonder what would have happened if they'd lost THREE pieces and Ranieri?
    .
Why there are still so many Saints fans out there bemoaning us this year, I don't know.

If I fully understand what you mean, you're talking about how our achievements this season have stood up remarkably well considering that we lost Mane, Pelle and VW, plus Koeman.

The Europa League trophy will be leaving the Iberian Peninsula where it has been a virtual resident alongside native-born Spaniards. Alas, it is on its way to a destination, as yet unknown. Would love one of the Italian sides to win it, but in all honesty I don't mind where it goes so long as it stays clear of Old Trafford

Woe betide me!! The beautiful Athletic are exiting the EL. Not a Spanish representative left. By the time the CL concludes its round, it may be left to the Madrid clubs to keep the Spanish flag flying high in Europe. I suppose the cycle of Spanish dominance had to end sometime.

Well done Anderlecht. 3-0 down and facing a certain exit going into added on time. And they come up with a goal in the 90th to squeeze through on away goals.

Ranieri has been given the boot by Leicester. It will serve them right if they end up with Pardew!! At the end of the day, Leicester are a "Pardew" type club. Ra
