So Mata comes on as a sub after 63 minutes ... Only to be replaced by a sub in injury time.

Why doesn't Mourinho just get him in his office and say "sorry fell, you're outta here."

Shame his salary is probably very high.

Edit: just checked. It's £140,000 Per week ...

They suggested on the BT sport coverage that he'd taken a knock just before being subbed off

Apparently Mourinho is quoted as saying he took him off because he is small, to deal with long balls into the box. Mkhitaryan is 5 ft 10, Mata is 5 ft 7.

The exact sort of player we need tbh... though his wages would be way too high for us. If he stays in England I can see it being Everton.

That's different, sacking a manager before the season. Any reasons?

Unfortunately, we would never pay that much (in wages or transfer fee). :(

I watched them get absolutely spanked by Spurs over the weekend, they looked awful. They lost 6-1.

New Chinese owners and rumours of a lot of disagreements with the direction of the squad and transfers. New owners want to build a young team, with the best talents from Europe/South America, Mancini very much likes his experienced pros.

So you probably haven't heard, but Farnborough announced Crystal Palace as a friendly fixture to comorate the opening of the new Prospect Road Stand.... It was advertised as the Palace first team and there was a lot of publicity by the club and buzz around the club, stuff in the paper, loads of stuff on the website, handing out leaflets... the price for an adult ticket was £12, more than a league match but when you're seeing Premier League stars... well that's reasonable.

However, it turns out, the day of the friendly that Crystal Palace are treating this as an U-21 fixture. This despite the fact that one of the club officials has confirmed that Crystal Palace promised to bring their first team at the time. Furthermore, the Crystal Palace U-21s were due to play Corinthian Casuals... but they canceled that fixture the day before, so they could play against Farnborough. The fact that Palace haven't tweeted about the fixture, the fact that Andros tweeted about it being nice to finish pre-season with a win over Valencia and on the website it says: "Tonight's squad for the pre-season friendly at Farnborough Town, kick-off 7.00pm, will include Steve Mandanda and Jonny Williams"... Doesn't suggest that it'l be a first team squad. Also in the Croydon Advertiser it says: "The majority of the Eagles' squad will made up of youngsters, with perhaps one or two first teamers eager to up their match fitness."

So despite promising to play t heir first team, it looks like it'll be an U-21 fixture which is disgraceful after previously having promised to play their first team. It just seems like they're running roughshod over Farnborough and also Corinthian Casuals which reeks of an egotistical, arrogant, entitled, self-centred approach and not giving a damn about lower league clubs which is the kind of thing you'd expect from the Premier League. Frankly I hope Palace get relegated because of their arrogance and their view that they can do what they like because they're in the Premier League.
