Newport fans generally supported Saints. Ryde side of the Island tended to support Pompey. Decided by where your local ferry goes....simple.
The Aldershot cup game was a qualifier and it must have been season 1997/98 so the game would have been Sept/Oct 97. One of the funny things that season was the first ever game that was Newport v Newport. In the first game at their place we were 2-0 down with 5 minutes to go and we drew 2-2. It got s not tasty coming off the pitch with a few Welshmen trying to get at us. Anyone would have thought we'd over celebrated that day... Ps. We were 2-0 down when I was taken off; pattern forming here.
Can't have that Ritchie. Come on man, you can do better than that. No true football fan would say "1-0 to Leyton"... I'm sure you meant to say "1-0 to Orient"
Sorry FLT you are correct, in my defence I had the wife nattering in my ear hole at the time, can't concentrate when trying to block out her talking about work.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-34756952 Ex-footballer turns artist. Have to say from the picture he looks pretty good. John Terry obviously wants to spend time looking at himself.......
Two of my friends know Jody Craddock and have been helping him out. One of them helped organize his testimonial (he is my age, overweight, never been a footballer, yet got 15 minutes in Jody's testimonial!!). My friends are a Wolves and a Sunderland fan (Jody's two clubs). One of them has a painting and it is very good. Good to see him having a focus after football.
