Does anyone else get continually annoyed by telepests? I work from home and get inundated with calls from them. <grr>

The latest one was from ‘WeClaim4U’ and the most annoying thing is that they spoof local numbers so you think it’s a nice little company in your area, when in fact they’re in a call centre in the Midlands or whatever. I asked her where in Dereham she was from, and she slammed the phone down on me! Charming!

I also get spoofed mobile numbers. It’s hard to block them because it’s impossible to tell if they’re genuine. I complain to the TPS, the ICO, and Cadbury’s CDM, but it has little effect. ****ers! (Rant over)

Have you looked into one of BT's call blocker phones? I've got one it's programable, blocks calls from 'withheld' numbers, from persistent cold call numbers and calls from abroad (Nigeria) etc.

Yes, I got one when I went back to BT from Virgin and would certainly recommend one.

I did invest in one, and would recommend them. They only hold ten blocked numbers though, or do some hold more? Working from home, I can get ten in one day, and have to keep swapping them.
I do block withheld numbers and numbers with no caller ID, but I can't block overseas numbers because I get calls from Ireland. Anyway, most of them now spoof numbers so they appear as UK numbers.
I know the problem is frequently discussed in parliament, but nothing has been resolved. In my case, it's a bloody nuisance, to many vulnerable people it can result in their computer being hacked and their bank accounts emptied.

I think mine holds 20. The buggers are always finding ways of getting round it though. The biggest issue I have is the doctors and hospitals as they are generally withheld numbers!

On my tablet - but only on this site lately, whatever I type is underlined including spaces, then when I've done, all underlined words join as one?
Doesn't do it on phone & I've not changed any settings?
Uninstalled & reinstalled app but jusy the same <grr>

WHY????? From the Telegraph
Balls rolls onto week seven
Former Shadow cha-cha-Chancellor Ed Balls shimmies his ungainly way to the halfway point of the series. He's been stranded at the foot of the scoreboard for weeks but finally hauled himself up the standings on Saturday - by only one place, admittedly - notching his highest score yet with 26 points.
Playing an Einstein-haired, goggle-wearing, white-clad scientist, his hip action was “like a jackhammer”, according to the agog Craig Revel Horwood. The dad-dancing politician got a standing ovation from the studio audience, chuckles from the judges and enough viewer votes to keep him out of yet another dance-off. What a Halloween treat for us all.
I really can't believe the British public can be so 'hoodwinked' by his 'Dad dancing' antics!!! <doh>

Sad news today. Builders may actually have to build instead of look for their latest wolf whistling oportunity! (Of course I'm sure naturally hanging unscaffolded norks are every bit as worthy of a whistle as two puppies fighting to get out of a pillowcase <whistle>)

Bah!

Crikey, respect for that. I'm a member of my local pub and Chip shop........Arggggg just realised what I've done! Cue General M and Chip Inn stories!!!! <sorry>

My local pub doesn't do memebership but I am something of a frequent visitor. Nor to my knowledge does the most excellent chip inn long stratton, though I wonder if the fish were caught by the membership! [HASHTAG]#coat[/HASHTAG] :smiley-finger007:
