I don't see anything wrong with it, yet I am not overly amazed by it. I wonder if once they have upgraded everything whether there will be a push to pump the site up the algorithms and reinvigorate it, get new members
It does need something to get new members when you look at the number of teams which have never got started and, more concerning, the teams that did get started and have just faded away. I am sure that we have nowhere near the number of active participants on our board that we once had and you cannot compare not606 with the original 606 which had active boards for every Club. The original did of course have the BBC behind it to reach out to the masses and not606 cannot emulate that so how you reach the wider audience is a very difficult question. There were other sites set up when 606 folded and I assume that they have just faded away.

I do like how I can sad face your reply now haha, because I agree, but it is sad if we drift away

Presumably, without asking any users, a person with a degree in 'f***ing things up' decided this was what we wanted.
That would be "a masters degree' 1950.

Edit:- just noticed number of messages and likes no longer posted. And found blue dog to left with downward arrow is just that.

I've finally managed to sign in and return now. Anyone answered "yes" to push notifications yet? Is it only when you get a reply / like or do you get swamped with rubbish?
And if you answer ' don't ask again ' guess what? You are asked again next day!! I have now also discovered that I am not being notified of further posts on threads I have been involved in. If this so called upgrade was intended to encourage more participants you might find it has the opposite effect.

An upgrade like this is not simple, and takes time -- just look at how shambolic the official Pink'Un site, currently going through a similar process, has been for the last couple of weeks (including the Pink'Un forum by the way). The guys doing this upgrade will get it sorted, eventually.

I accept what you say to some extent but is the refusal to accept ' don't ask again ' an upgrade blip or a deliberate ploy? What improvement would you say this upgrade has achieved?

I expect a lot is the code in the background making it easier to deploy future upgrades. I know people were having issues with being able to sign up to the site. Perhaps that has been sorted in the upgrade? I take it this is purely conjecture on my behalf, but other than having to log in again it really hasn't affected my experience. To me the stylistic change seems to suit the path of making it mobile compatible to perhaps launch an app or target a different audience.

I remember when a similar change was made on the Pinkun Board. It caused less unrest because it included an edit button for the first time. This change hasn't had that advantage but I have to admit that I'm getting used to it now. The Attach Files tool is an improvement on the old 'upload file' mechanism, providing the same look and feel as email attachments.

A blip. As for improvements, I'd say your new avatar wins hands down ;) More seriously, I think Zog makes a good point:

Not to put too fine a point on it, we -- or at least a sizeable proportion of us -- are more representative of the forum's present and past, not its future. Bit like the club's Carrow Road development plans really: you won't recruit the next generation of posters or supporters by prioritising the generation they'll replace
