I love the bit between North denes and south denes, as well as pretty lights it has a nice bit of knife crime and general deprivation.

    Bah!

F**king hell! I am so fed up with this world and leaders. It is already so hard to recycle things. When you go to a plant, you feel guilty, and like you are trying to get away with something. They question you. You have to answer what they want.

Still, I run country roads. Often sofas, rubble, furniture, crap is dumped. Coz the Wymondham centre is only open 4 days a week, which is stupid.

Now, apparently we will have to pay to dump more?! We pay stupid amounts in taxes for our rubbish to be taken away. they don't, so we had to take it to a recycle centre. That's not sh*t enough either? We will have to pay for that too!?

I read something about that yesterday and it will save the council as little as £280K, but how much extra are they going to have to spend above that clearing up fly tipping. <yikes>

Not to mention the cost to the environment of further fly tipping. Some of these pikeys will happily dump asbestos, soiled mattresses, white goods in woodland and areas where it most impacts the flora and fauna around it. People should be encouraged to be green and recycle as much waste as they can, ffs, - not penalised financially for having the audacity to try and help preserve the planet.

On a different note, did anyone else watch the special '30 years on' commemorative Old Grey Whistle Test last night? (It's on i-player for one month)
Hosted by Bob, featuring footage, live acts, interviews with the show's creators, animators and various artists whose careers had been helped by appearing on it etc - it really was jolly good.

Yea, a lot of asbestos sheets. When I first bought my house there was an old shed which was all asbestos. Was a nightmare carefully taking it down, had to be wrapped up in really thick plastic sheets, tapped up securely, and taken to a special site, then paid about 300 quid for me to put it in a container. It's not surprising people just tip it. Some people probably cant afford to take it to the site. Awful really. Something hazardous like that, they shouldn't charge so much for you to carefully dispose of it. It's good these things are getting taken down and buried.

Sounds like a job for 'arry Redknapp. ;)
Seriously though, with the (excellent) move already in place to charge for plastic carrier bags, plans afoot to cut back on waste plastic packaging and hopefully use refillable water bottles (which I've done for years!) as opposed to disposables, this news is like one tiny weeny pace forwards - and a giant, massive leap back! Sickens me to the (biodegradable) core. <doh>

edit - and, as if by magic, look at the very next item on my twitter timeline!

As a non car owner, I use the service year round to access places like Weybourne, Kelling, Cley, Blakeney, Stiffkey, Holkham etc. to go for a wander with my binoculars and camera in tow.
I'd be shafted without, taxis being the only alternative I'd have :emoticon-0145-shake (apart from hitch-hiking...anyone remember that?)
But, putting my :police: hat on for a moment, wouldn't you think that if you were going to launch a serious petition you'd have the common bloody savvy to spell-check it first?
'scraped' = scrapped and 'loosing' = losing. And yes, I "singed" it - for about the third time ;)
There was talk of Sanders or a local Kings Lynn company Lynxbus taking the route over but early days yet. Fingers crossed - or I'll be blagging lifts off you guys <yikes>

It's a terrific service and I use it quite a lot - driving to the start of a walk, waking along the coast and then getting the bus back to the car.
I'm sure it would have a serious impact on tourism along the coast as well as the impact on many locals being stranded if they don't own a car.

Edit - not sure it will happen IMO.

Never mind fly-tipping, this is how intelligent life forms deal with litter and rubbish <ok>

So, Scotland showed England how to play rugby yesterday to win the Calcutta Cup for the first time in 10 years. What a shame we have the game to Wales when we went there.
The match against Ireland should be good!!!

I'm in Norwich and we've had a few flurries, but roads are still clear. I'm not expecting that much snow here.
