I've just seen this on BBC Breakfast and see that the company that makes these 'flood proof' homes is based at Scottow Business park - https://www.tufeco.com/

A return from Ipswich to Liverpool st peak times is £76 so if they are only charging £8 each way commuting to work in the City will be much more widespread.
Brilliant idea until it conks out halfway between Stratford and Chelmsford miles from either stop 100 metres below the ground.

There are plans to build a high speed train from Ipswich to London in 3 and a half minutes. <ok>

One for all those meteorologists out there :emoticon-0112-wonde
Tomorrow is the thirtieth anniversary of the Great Storm of 1987.
Anyone remember where they were aon that night (rhetorical question, really)
I was in Brighton, and that whole Kent, Sussex, Hampshire coastline took one hell of a beating.
Large boats at Lancing just lifted out of the sea like balsa wood!
Preston park, which runs alongside the A23 London Road in Brighton was decimated, more trees fallen than standing. Widespread power cuts, too, so unable to open my offie the next day as no power to lights, tills etc - so sat in pub in town supping Hall & Woodhouse tanglefoot all day <yikes>

And why, exactly, would that surprise you?
It's a logical extension of the 'copy and paste' facility widely used already on the north Norfolk coast - especially in match day threads. ;)

You really had it hard Cromer. Forced to sit in pub, drinking ale all day, when you could have been at work enjoying yourself.

But it was an act of god, I swear! And anyway, after a couple of Tanglefoots (feet?) I couldn't have been trusted to unset alarms and such <yikes>
