A bit of trivia for you.

On December 18th 1982 The Gas beat Wrexham 4-0 at Eastville three of the scorers had the same surname can you name all three?

I don't know the answer to that, but here are some more recent visits by Wrexham...

January 2000 - Rovers 3-1 Wrexham - A quick start from Rovers saw Jamie Cureton open the scoring early on, hooking the ball into the net from close range after the Red Dragons had failed to clear a corner. An unlikely scorer got our second soon after half time as Rob Trees slid the ball past Kevin Dearden from Jason Roberts' low cross. Wrexham pulled one back through Neil Roberts, who tapped in following good work from Craig Faulconbridge. However, our own Roberts sealed the deal when he superbly held of three defenders to shoot low into the net.

May 2001- Rovers 4-0 Wrexham - Unfortunately, Rovers had already been relegated to Division Three by the time we played this game, but a least we ended with a win. Mark Walters scored twice in the first half, the first of which a penalty. Richie Partridge then scored his only Rovers goal on loan from Liverpool, before Nathan Ellington rounded it off. Danny Williams and Lee Trundle were both sent off for Wrexham

November 2002 - Rovers 0-3 Wrexham - This was a truly miserable day at the Mem, as a vastly superior Wrexham destroyed Rovers from start to finish. They had Division Three's best striker in Andrew Morrell, and he ruthless punished us twice in the first half. First he glanced in Paul Edwards' cross at the near boss, before dispossessing Adam Barrett and firing low past Scott Howie. They cruised through the second half but added a third when Lee Trundle did his best Dennis Bergkamp impression.

November 2005 - Rovers 2-1 Wrexham - This was very memorable, but showed few signs of lifting off for much of the encounter. Dennis Lawrence touched the ball in to give Wrexham the lead on the hour, and they held that until the closing stages. Just as it seemed that they would hold on, Richard Walker nodded down and in to level it, and he still found time to steal the three points when he was left criminally unmarked to power home another header.

March 2007 - Rovers 0-1 Wrexham - This was our only defeat in our amazing run-in which eventually saw us promoted. It was a cumbersome performance, with Lewis Haldane looking the only player likely to make something happen for us. Wrexham lacked quality themselves, but took a deserved three points when Jeff Whitley dived to head in a cross from Simon Spender.

Good answer, I was going to take a punt at Jones (with no research), we used to get a good crop of Welsh lads back then.

All you need to know ahead of tonight's game

Rovers will be looking to get back to winning ways and put Saturday's disappointing performance behind them, when Wrexham visit the Memorial Stadium tonight.

Opposition: Wrexham have won all three of their away games so far this season, and currently sit in 7th place at this early stage of the campaign. On Saturday they beat Forest Green 1-0 at the New Lawn.

Opposition View: Speaking ahead of their trip to Forest Green, midfielder Joe Clarke said: “We’ve got a very tough September ahead of us now, but you have to play all the teams twice so when they come along does not matter too much.

Forest Green Rovers and Bristol Rovers are the sort of games players look forward to as much as the fans and we have to view every one as an opportunity to put more points on the board.

“It’s one step at time for us and it’s probably the same everywhere because no team has still got a 100% record. Luton had a very slow start last year and we battered them at the Racecourse early on, but they went on to win the league comfortably so it’s impossible to predict at the moment how things are going to pan out.”

Darrell Clarke's comments: “They come on a good run of form with a good away record.

“They are an experienced non-league team and ex-league team. They have good players and have made a couple of good signings.

“Like every game we play, it is going to be difficult. When you lose on a Saturday you want a game straight away and it is pleasing we can try and put it right tomorrow night.”

Last Meeting: The last time the two sides met was at the Memorial Stadium in March 2007. The Welsh side won the game 1-0.

Team News: Jake Gosling returns from international duty with Gibraltar.

MIDFIELDER Stuart Sinclair says he welcomes the well-documented "pressure" that players at Bristol Rovers are expected to deal with.

Expectation levels have been raised at the Memorial Stadium again this season after Rovers suffered relegation from the Football League to the Vanarama Conference.

A difficult start to the campaign, however, suggests a new-look group of players is struggling to come to terms with life as the "biggest fish" in non-League and team have been heavily-criticised – along with manager Darrell Clarke – following a 2-0 defeat at Braintree Town on Saturday.

Sinclair, pictured, admitted: "Every place you go to that is away from home is going to be difficult, but there is no getting away from the fact that we were disappointing.

"The good thing is we can put that behind us with a good win on Tuesday night.

"We have to look forward to the Wrexham game and hope that the fans will back us again.

"It is up to us to play well and perform to get the fans onside.

"If we haven't played well we expect the fans to be disappointed because that's how we feel about it well.

"Yes, the fans will put pressure on us but that isn't something that anybody here is surprised about.

"We wouldn't want it any other way because we put pressure on ourselves to do well.

"Eventually you are likely to lose the odd game here and there, it doesn't really matter who you are.

There isn't anything you can do about that.

"But you have to try and retain a positive outlook when you are looking to bounce back and again.

"If we can take another seven points from the next three games like we did in the three before losing at Braintree we can build again and things will look a lot more positive."

Rovers, however, will have their work cut out against a Wrexham side who have won their last three away games.

That run included a 1-0 victory against a Forest Green Rovers side which included Sinclair's brother, Rob, at The New Lawn on Saturday.

"Rob has told me that they are a decent side," Sinclair said. "I know (Louis) Moult from his time at Nuneaton and (Connor) Jennings is also a very good player.

"They are sharp all over the pitch and it is going to be a tough game for us.

"It is another big test for us, but I'm looking for us to get a positive result.

"We beat Halifax when they came here on the back of five straight victories.

"So there is no reason why we can't do something similar again on tonight."

Sinclair is almost certain to be pushing for a starting spot after Clarke confirmed that he may look to make "one or two" changes in a bid to freshen things up among his Rovers squad for the game against Wrexham.

The midfielder has featured only as a substitute since serving a suspension for being sent off in a defeat at Altrincham almost a month ago.

"You need competition for places and at the moment I'm on the wrong end of that," Sinclair said.

"It is all part and parcel of football and the only thing I can do is try and do well when I come off the bench.

"I did well against Forest Green when I came on and I set up the goal against Halifax, so hopefully that will give the gaffer something to think about."

28 mins of football and one off target shot.

    Sounds excruciating.
