Good result after a must win game. Hopefully that will give the team some confidence going into another important match against Bury - can we get only our second win on the road this weekend?
a comment from someone who was at the game (taken from the OS forum) Chris Beardsley: Shocking. I think that was the word I used to describe him when he joined. I will hold my hands up after tonight, granted he won't score you 20 goals but I haven't seen a better shift from a Rovers striker in years. He was everywhere and chased down everything, not allowing their CB's any time on the ball and created a couple of chanes for others. He got nothing from the referee all game but gone on with it. Clucas was also outstanding on his return and O'Toole look good next to him. Also special mention to Lockyer who started shaky but then grew into the game and played well alongside Parkes. Great performance by the lads and a massive 3 points
A real dogged performance...the youngsters Lockyer and Clucas really becoming established. JJ MoM ? ....he scores goals...no argument, but in between contributes sod all. Reminds me of the kicker in American Football who comes on, scores the points, then goes off again. Clarkson was MoM for me...did not deserve to be substituted. Feel sorry for Beardsley. Yes, he's not the best but he's a shortarse up front on his own continually chasing lost causes! I didn't notice Gow at all....nice clean kit when he was subbed! Parkes had some good charging runs. Smith's a bit 'off-colour'...not quite up to his usual high standard. But a bluddy good win and a clean sheet!
