'Fraid I didn't. I hoped for great things, but every pass he spent ages over, which slowed us down so much allowing Fulham to get into position and when the player received the ball, they were then stationary or immediately shut down. Fox also looks desperately uncomfortable on the ball. He wasn't helped by (1) only one other CM being Johnson and (2) Sidwell and Karagounis in particular had very good games, but Fox demonstrated, for me, the reason why he wasn't brought into the team on Saturday.
My mate quite rightly pointed put during the game that those two absolutely killed the game off once Fulham were ahead. They played superbly in the centre of midfield.
I only watched the second half, but I felt really sorry for Murphy, the ball never seemed to come his way, it was always down the right.
Probably either him or RvW for me (at least Ricky was trying to get on the ball and make something happen).
Whenever Murphy did get the ball he had 3 Fulham players on him in seconds. His threat was pretty well snuffed out so I can understand why we went down the other wing instead. Good to know Fulham thought Murphy was that much of a threat though.
I don't really, I'm afraid. I thought he did respectably for a young guy, but as cardinal says, he was always closed down very quickly, had no options and on the occasions when he tried to beat his man he unfortunately usually failed, which put us in trouble. I thought he was OK, which in the grand scheme of the other players meant he was well above average! RvW impressed, followed by Johnson. And that was about it.
