How can you possibly say that ?? He won't be the first and he won't be the last to lose the fans and the dressing room if things go pear shape like it did last time....
Our fans dont create the toxic atmosphere yours do Dai. Then there was the comedy demo with about 6 old fellas protesting about Big Nose. If we go down its because we are not good enough. Your crowd was probably worth a goal start to the opposition.
Still a lot of noise on the Fulham board over big name, big price signings. Certainly approaching the window very differently from us, as are wolves. Brizzle seem to have done some good business both out and in. Swans whinging about the deals to let players go, many still not coming to terms with the financial challenges ahead. Derby, villa and Boro with defining seasons ahead. Relegation or not, I'm quite happy with how we've set out stall out. Warnock still feeling he has a point to prove in the big league will work in our favour as well. Can see him retiring if he keeps us up.
It's hard to know how big the price is for Schurrle, with a two year loan. I'm pretty sure someone got very well paid in that deal somewhere though. Anyway, our team's have different strengths. Your team spirit and workrate are an important part of how Warnock plays, so not disrupting that too much is pretty important. We want players to supplement our passing style and our chairman's giant ego, so big name, big price signings are the order of the day. Our approach is certainly the higher risk/reward approach.
Risk and reward needs to be managed from a practical point of view. The correct approach for new clubs towards promotion to the Prem is a moot point and only time will tell. Doing and improving what you do best should be the order of the day and it'll be very interesting to see which of the two different philosphies bears fruit. It's only an opinion, but I' ve got a suspicion that playing the existing Prem clubs in a way they will not be used to, viz "Championship style" may be the better option rather than trying to outplay them.
But if they tried their tippy tappy stuff with a flat track bully up top they’d likely flounder as other teams are better at it. So IMO Fulham needed to get better players in and adapt their style. Now City on the other hand look like they’ll be playing the same style as last season but with a bit more quality in some positions. However IMO there is a distinct lack of stardust quality about the team which may suit but in some games ie the ones against teams around us in the league, that’s when the extra quality will count.
This sort of sums up where city are on the transfer front; the comments section from Wolves & Fulham fans has some validity https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport...ws/cardiff-city-calm-transfer-policy-14955361
Think I'm more content having the players we have got in early rather than get big names in late that may disrupt things.
