Centre midfield to be addressed next.
I wonder what irons Colin has in the fire.
Is he confident of signing grujic?
Pretty sure there will be a couple loan signings and a free or two.

I think there's more to come as well.

Loans yes, but I wouldn't put it past Tan/Warnock to have some extra cash up their sleeves available for another surprise purchase.

Some interesting views on the Fulham board. On the ins and out thread there's a view of £80M for a listed group of players to turn them into contenders.<laugh><laugh><laugh>

Don't think they've actually signed anyone other than a couple 16 year olds yet.

Stoke offering a potential new signing £80k a week. WHAT!!!!!!

Brizzle look to be doing good business, replacing those that have moved on.

Swans are struggling to balance the books being unable to get the big salaries away preventing new signings
A worrying time for those down west.

Fulham still to make a senior signing. Big gaps in the squad from last season.

    Spammers still chucking money about.

    Interesting times.

Back home now remote - time to get football thoughts back on track and I'll stick with the Championship for the mo. <ok>

It's going to be interesting to watch again this season - a selection of clubs with different philosphies as to how to get out of it at the right end. Stoke are defiitely going to try to buy themselves back to the Prem this coming season with decent imports and big contract wages. It looks like Forest are going for it splashing the cash like Wolves/Villa last season - the difference is that Stoke have got around a £50M parachute money advantage.

Norwich and Bristol are cashing in. Norwich need to for the money, but Bristol seem to have got caught in the "final season of contract" syndrome are getting what they can for players who seemingly don't want to be there. Looks like Norwich are going to hang on to the cash through necessity whereas at least Bristol are bringing players in. Could be a rebuild season for both. The other two that came down last season seem very different in background. West Brom will get stuck in, but Swansea could bomb unless Potter adjusts quickly to life in the Championship.

Other contenders? Well Derby and Villa have to be very careful financially but both are capable of a top 6 finish, and Middlesbrough are bound to be up there.

Maybe time to think about a "Black Horse" thread for the Championship again? I'll have a think and stick one up as the transfer window closes being as I got the last two in Huddersfield and City spot on. <whistle><whistle>

Some deluded (where is clingo when you need him) swans who think they have plenty of cash.

I'm comfortable with our business both financially and player wise.

Keep saying it but Fulham have a load to do to get the squad back to where it was last season.

Think brizzle will be ok with their early signings but swans with work to do.

No idea what will happen to Norwich.

What conversation? Not much to say until we actually sign someone!

There's plenty of frustration with our lack of action, but venting about that doesn't help much.

Plenty to say pal - this is an open football forum and as much about speculation as well as facts, not bloody cucumber sandwiches and afternoon tea at the Vicarage. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Some forums are more active than others and some are just dead. We try to keep it going and fair play, your '58 seems to do his best across there with you.

Don't want to be controversial here Surlyc, but for what it's worth, I've got you down to finish below us this year, even go as far to say you'll go back down - maybe we both will eh? Do you want to talk about that? <ok>

More a comment on the nature of your posters and a lack of engagement with others (and yourselves for that matter). Visit quite a lot of boards of other teams and in some way get a response, be that an argument or moderate debate. Hard to engage Fulham posters in any form of discussion. Not a criticism, just an observation.

Still feel you're in a difficult position given the thinness of your squad with last year's loanees having returned to their parent clubs. Our first pre-season game on Friday and we'll have our full squad from last year (save gunnarson and Grujic and incurring no cost) plus 4 new additions.

As things currently stand, I can understand that. We've lost three first team players (Mitrovic, Targett & Fredericks) who were arguably the form players in their position across the back end of last season and not replaced them. How well our season goes is dependent on our speed in resolving transfers over the next 2-3 weeks.

We need to sign Mitrovic, as there is no other striker of his level available who would need no bedding in period. Targett is an issue as Southampton don't want to sell him and finding a left back is crucial to unleashing Sessegnon. This window is short due to the World Cup and the earlier close, so we've got plenty of recruiting to do in a short window - however I do think we have a good core of players who can step up (Cairney, Johansen, Ream, Sessegnon) so we don't have the pressure to sign a number of first team players who can have an immediate impact.

We saved money through loanees last year, now the time has come to pay the piper.

The reported fees for Seri/Le Marchand are £18-25m/£4m respectively, so not quite what you said... but still a very hefty sum even so. Particularly as we are still going to need to spend £20m+ on Mitrovic; there's a real risk to our approach and it's not one we've really takensince the late 90s/early 00s.

That said, I'm much happier now that we've actually signed some players!

Lose a few games on the trot and Warnock will not only lose the fans he will lose the dressing room......His record is not good in the top league everyone knows that......

And we haven't got loads of cash to splash about like you have if things go wrong.

And back in the real world...…

…….. Warnock may lose football games, but in no way will he lose the dressing room!
