Two sides to every story as Jeremy Kyle would say. Sounds like he is ready to get back to playing football again and that his dad has given him a kick up the backside. Time is more precious than money and as a professional footballer the clock for Wayne Bridge is ticking.

"I'll enjoy christmas when I retire" Rickie Lambert Southampton's goal machine.

So you're saying you wouldn't do the same?, come on now you know you would. It's not just bridge who is greedy, All footballers are. Even Saints players are greedy ****ers it's how football is.
No footballer deserves 7k a week let alone 200k. That's why football will one day implode.
Why would Bridge give a **** if he plays or not when he is on 80k and has a stunning gf etc. I know I wouldn't, in the end it's the clubs fault for breeding greedy arse players because their willing to pay the crazy money.

I tend to agree. I don't really blame Bridge for not going elsewhere, where he presumably would have had to take a massive pay cut.

If he didn't care about playing football, I'm sure he wouldn't have gone on loan to West Ham last season (they were, after all, in deep relegation trouble). I think he does care about playing football, but he just doesn't want to take such a huge pay-cut to do it.
