Walking out on Palace for Bolton worked well for his career then...

 

And for Palace it seems.

 

Blackpool supporters can't get a break. Their beleaguered team played Cardiff City tonight. They had planned a 53rd minute walk-off the terraces in protest to their chairman's frankly odd attitude in running a football club. Especially one that is still in receipt of pots of Premier League parachute money. Anyway, come the minute of departure, and most of them trot off, never to return that evening. 11 minutes later Blackpool scored and hung on to win 1-0.

Does anybody know why Cardiff went down to 10 players tonight in the 69th minute, during the substitute exchange..?

 

Portsmouth lost 2-1 in FL Trophy (Southern). And MK Dons lost to Wimbledon FC (proper needle match).

Oh dear Liverpool. Last international break they lost Sturridge and now this one, Lovren and Markovic are injured. Brenda will not be happy.

 

That will be SKD one day if we don't solve the problem of getting a decent second keeper happy to play sub.

Have to give credit to Bolton for the way they have appointed Lennon so quickly, but also after interviewing a lot of good candidates. Nothing frustrates me more than a club sacking a manger, but taking about a month to appoint a replacement. The international break has helped, but they seem to have a decent manager, considering they are at the bottom of the Championship.

 

Getting the wrong manager would be just as frustrating for Bolton fans, and they're the only ones who matter. Getting the right manager in fairly smartly is the ideal thing. Whatever unfolds during this season, bar a complete drop off in form for no reason, I think Saints have behaved perfectly in appointing RK and just goes to show that you sometimes don't need a new broom to sweep clean, just a better one built long the same lines.

We'll see how good Lennon actually is.

 

You're right. Saints did appoint Ronald in the right way, but remember this was in June, before pre-season started. I think Lennon is a good fit, and would imagine Bolton fans will be pretty content with swapping Freedman for Lennon.

 

The important thing is getting the right manager...too important an appointment to rush into to. Better to play a few games without a manager than get it wrong. Have to admit to a bit of hypocrisy there as I was panicking a bit in the summer, but we got the right man eventually.
