    That's because you're awesome.

Spencer Day isn't doing my one man campaign for him to become the next Portsmouth manager much good tonight seeing as Farnborough were hammered 5-0 by Concord. Sigh.

What's your beef with Man City PL. I see you've been over upsetting the locals!

Well I've disliked them from years back to their thuggery and deliberate targeting of Pedro Mendes a few times when we played them (*cough*Ben Thatcher*cough*Joey Barton*cough*). But recently what really grinds my gears is the fact they have so obviously spent completely ridiculous amounts of money creating a team a team of mercenaries in order to buy the league, and yet they have some kind of deluded view that somehow they're on a par with Man United or Real Madrid. They're completely arrogant and forget that just a few seasons ago, they were relegation fodder.

Not only that but exact same thing is happening with Man City's women's team, in two years they've gone from the Premier League North (the third tier) to signing England internationals. Despite finishing mid-table in the Premier League National Division last year (and losing to Portsmouth twice ha!), they go straight into WSL1, and are the only non-current WSL team to go into WSL1, yet teams like Sunderland who have been consistently decent and won the double a couple of seasons back and the league this season or Aston Villa who won the league cup this season go into WSL2. Why? Because of Man City essentially bought their way in. I just hate what they're doing and what they represent about everything that's wrong with football, men's and women's. As a result, to see them fail is most excellent.

This might sound a bit hypocritical to a Portsmouth fan but our spending during our spending spree, we spent about on a par with Aston Villa (who were challenging for the Champions League at the time) and Tottenham, but obviously Villa Park and White Hart Lane are much bigger stadia so they could support it. Our record transfer fee paid was only £11 million for Crouch and that was after our FA Cup win anyway (not sure it was good value for money either tbh). So ultimately our spending has been nothing like Man City, nor did we ever have the delusions of grandeur that they have.

Have to say I agree with PompeyLapras about the women's game. You should have to earn your way in...the Belles especially were treated badly.

Used to share his view about City, but have stepped down from my high horse (because although I think we have done it in the proper way) it is hypocritical to criticise a team for spending money. We had more money than most in League 1 and the Championship. ManU should not be above criticism for spending just because they are a big club on the world stage. The status quo needs shaking up every now and again....no team has the God given right to be top dog forever.

I hope their results don't improve now. As for SOD, I think he was too cautious with what is a group of players which should be in and around the top 6 of League One.

With that squad they should be challenging for top 6 so he definitely under achieved. Could do worse than Warnock.

Nigel Adkins' Reading side were 2-0 up, but it's now Forest 2-2 Reading.

Oh my goodness, Man City ladies are a complete joke. They just make me so angry. In the last week they've signed three bloody England internationals, and this coming from a team who are a couple of seasons back were in the third tier of the women's league system, and last season was their first ever in the Premier League National Division and now they're signing England internationals? It's ridiculous, they're just so blatantly buying the league and doing exactly the same thing the men's team did a while back. Not to mention the fact they shouldn't be in WSL1 in the first place.

Good job, FA. You've ruined women's football and turned into another league where the only thing matters is money.

Might quieten the increasing number of Reading fans who want him out, for a little while at least.

He really seems to have lost his way. It's a shame. He was always one of the top goal scoring strikers in the Championship.
