    Non-League but, I'm getting updates on my Southend feed.

    Chelmsford 0-2 Hayes and Yeading


    Forecast having a stinker apparently. FWIW, Chelmsford won 6-2 last season.

    I'd be surprised, one goal maybe but two might be a bit of an ask!

    Twenty minutes to go though, and Southend have been laying siege for a good five minutes or so.

    Not at all. Short passing game. Sturrock was here and played long ball, Brown has tried to change that over the summer.

    He demanded the renovation of the training ground, including relaying the training pitches.

    He also had Roots Hall's pitch relayed, it's a hell of a lot better now.

    He likes to move the ball about and play out from the back, but naturally as a League Two side, they can mix it up.

    Another good note is that two Southend academy products are playing today.

    I'm not sure why, but I always find myself cheering against Sheffield United. Get in, Rotherham.

    I'm also predisposed to cheer for Crewe, though the reasons for that are more obvious.
