BBC Sheffield and South Yorkshire reporting that a takeover for Doncaster Rovers is set to be completed... by One Direction's Louis Tomlinson.

 

This was in the paper a week or two ago.

 

If he wants to blow a few mill, he should just visit Los Vegas.

 

Feel sorry for Doncaster, some brat who can't sing becoming your owner, poor them.

 

A Cardiff fan with the means and know-how has started manufacturing his own Cardiff City shirts, selling them at £25 each.

Don't know him specifically, but, like 'em or not, One Direction can sing. Doncaster are probably happy to have a seriously rich owner who is a fan...the really important thing is that the people actually running the club know what they are doing....otherwise it will be money down the drain. Must be sustainable however much he spends on the club.

Well he's only been in the job one day so far, LTL, so it's pretty difficult to pass judgement...

Okay, just checked, he was sacked by Leverkeusen after about five minutes. Shame. Hope he does well at Albion though.

 

Most fans wouldn't care who it was, as long as someone saves their Club from destruction, I seem to remember similar feelings about five Years ago.

 

He'll probably bring in a load of new fans. They'll buy stuff.

 

It'll be like all the Olly Murs fans at Old Trafford yesterday. All he has to do is come out and do a little speech before and after the game, and thousands of teenage girls will show up for it and sit through the football just to see him. And if they're going to sit there and wait for 90 minutes, they might as well try and enjoy the game. Before you know it, Donny are packing their stadium every week with dedicated female fans. Louis Tomlinson: master businessman.

 

I wonder if a wealthy local boy such as Roland Orzabal offered to take over PFC lock stock and barrel, would you take it on?

Nope. I'm happy with our current ownership model and it would take a lot for me to think the millionaire/billionaire dictator (benevolent or otherwise) model would be preferable

 

Talk that José Riga has resigned from Blackpool after just 10 days in charge. Bust-up with Oyston and can't work with him, apparently.
