You have nothing in place that they could rate, and won't have for many years. The BoE have already said while you can still swap and trade locally with our money, you cannot use sterling as your currency. What you may get, is a very costly loan from the EU, who will then run your Country. Some independence that eh.
Ours! Yours! Sterling is as much OUR currency as it is YOURS. We have currency already in circulation. We will just call it Scottish Sterling and you can come here and give us £1 20 to the S£.
Really Oil https://www.scotsman.com/news/opini...industry-has-got-left-dr-richard-dixon-633275 Scotch https://www.forbes.com/sites/felipeschrieberg/2020/07/21/scotch-whisky-exports/ What currency will you use when you get independence* England have said you cant use the £ * But wants to be owned by the EU
Let's take period 70s to 2000s ! Oil revenue from Scottish fields would have more than paid for all the needs of Scotland for a good half a century ! Spent correctly ! The current oil price coupled with the drive for green energy is obvs a big see change ! PS I ain't been on about subsidies
Nope, you have promissory notes, but they have no meaning beyond that, unlike a proper currency. You see groveling and crawling in the hope of being indebted to the EU as Independence.
The Oil Industry in the UK is ****ed what with the price war between Saudi and Russia and coronavirus.
North sea oil is on the wane. Has been for the last decade. Fortunately, the largest deposits of oil in Europe have been discovered off Scotland's West coast. Billions of barrels of oil just waiting to be sooked right oot. Didn't I mention? Whisky is a 5 billion quid industry. And that's just the dough the establishment tells us about. Every independent country in the world would love to have such a valuable commodity, including England. Scotland having it is deemed a burden. Oil even more so. Mental! England has no say in who uses the £ as their currency. Sorry but thems the facts. It's called the British pound by the way, not the English pound.
"See you Jimmy, of course it's legal, it's got a picture William Wallace and Edinburgh Castle on it."
It wont exist in 40 years . The move to electric and Hydrogen will finish it off . An Independent Scotland would need to move fast to be viable !
Ooft! You've lost it when you quote Drew's posts with **** that has no relevance to the shìt Drew posted.
