Obviously he'll score less when not played up front. Almost any player would. Presumably when he was asked to play left wing the managers weren't expecting him to score loads. But the point is, he was just a bit of a limited, clumsy player. He did a job for us in the same Aaron McLean did, but he was never a skillful player like Hernandez and that's why he didn't play much. The idea that his obvious limitations were down to him being in an ''incorrect position' as suggested in the post I initially responded to, is preposterous.
He's obviously no world beater, but played in his best position, I've no doubt most would have a far higher opinion of him than they do currently.
If Phelan, Silva, Slutsky and Adkins didn't play him as a striker it makes me wonder why Bruce bought him in the first place.
