seems to me that if we win 5 games we should be home and hosed. Especially if we were to beat Preston.
APPEARS IT IS ! 6-4-0 the assumption of the W D L is that it is based simply on the individuals assessment of W D L? WHICH qualifies for real guesstimation... (my original metods wereas a top team supporter you always have a strong bias toward your team, anything in bottom half 3 points H or A in mid table HW or A win /draw based on near top or bottom of mid division, and teams in top 6-7 Home wins Away draws every game then " assume we will lose 1 home draw 3 and lose 3 away! for 14 fixtures played) As things evolve you can bring in more factors..but like horse racing..its not always the fastest finisher that wins, its on the day... tactics and conditions
You don't half talk a load of twaddle sometimes 6-4-0 means they are going to draw 4 games including against us. But yes we all know it is a guesstimate or else we would all win the pools (I once won a first divi of 11 shillings). The consolation with the City is that have not had a bad patch all season and we must hope they don't start now. A win against Barnsley will do a lot to reassure folks. Having said we are of course almost stone wall certs
what else could it be ?? W D L as far as I can remember it has always been presented as W = WON D = DRAW L = LOST, it is not specific that your 6 -4 includes City result as a win or a draw for them just they don't get beat so obviously we don't at least get 3 points.from them..... Bad patch.....ummm 8 points from 18 poor, less than half, another session 9 points from 18 quite poor , half the points, and then of course 10 from 18 could have done better just better than half... We are so so lucky that our bad patch's have come in 3 sessions covering 6 games... Swindlers 4 pts from 18 .... MKD 6 -18 / 7 from 24 and PNE 9 from 18 and 6 from 18
Updated from Saturday's games - we are now guaranteed a play-off place. Current Position: There are now 8 games to go - ignoring goal difference this is the number of points City need to guarantee certain things (I have put in brackets the team that impacts on that points total): To be Champions - 18 points (Preston) To go Up - 15 points (Swindon) 3rd Place - 11 points (MK Dons) 4th Place - 3 points (Sheff U) 5th Place - 1 point (Rochdale) Make the Play-Offs - 0 point - Objective Achieved
don't disagree with that reasoning and will be quite interesting to see how it pans out.... fixtures already indicate we cant finish less than 4th Bristol City V Barnsley Preston V Rochdale Swindon V MK Dons Barnsley V Sheff Utd Bristol City V Swindon Preston V Bristol City Swindon V Peterborough Rochdale V Swindon Preston V Swindon Rochdale V MKD Barnsley V Peterborough Barnsley V Rochdale Sheffield only play Barnsley City play PNE and Swindon (Barnsley) Swindon play PNE MKD and City ( Peterbro ) PNE City and Swindon (Rochdale ) MKD play Swindon ( Rochdale )
Rochdale 3 injuries before half time! Oldham wouldn't it be funny if they made the play offs and Barnsley missed out! Guaranteed 4th place...............City
I suspect that SC really worries about who finishes in third and in this respect I note that in April Swindon have 6 games in 17 days (8 in 24) hardly a programme conducive to a sustained end to the season
Another lack lustre performance. City seem to start each home playing for a 0-0 half time score and hope to win it in the second half. Today we were lucky to get a point and only woke up in the last 15 mins. We are desperately short of a good centre forward . Their chap today certainly gave us a run around. Wilbs has done his job over the season but we must recruit someone with pace next year. I give up on Agard . My first touch is better than his
Not over yet but Sky seem to think you are Champions which us a bit of an incentive to prove them wrong, won't be easy at Fleetwood today in what will be poor condition wind and heavy rain, all will be clearer by the time you beat Swindle next Tuesday
Current Position: There are now 8 games to go - ignoring goal difference this is the number of points City need to guarantee certain things (I have put in brackets the team that impacts on that points total): To be Champions - 17 points (Preston who have 2 games extra to play) To go Up - 14 points (Swindon who have 2 games extra to play) 3rd Place - 10 points (MK Dons who have 1 game extra to play) 4th Place - 0 point - Objective Achieved 5th Place - 0 point - Objective Achieved Make the Play-Offs - 0 point - Objective Achieved Of course this assumes that our opponents will win every game they play (which is impossible given they will play each other).
Updated after Prestons's draw at Fleetwood - Current Position: There are now 7 games to go - ignoring goal difference this is the number of points City need to guarantee certain things (I have put in brackets the team that impacts on that points total): To be Champions - 15 points (Preston)
