I know what you mean. There was a docu on Michael Watson recently. He'll never be the same but it's testament to the fighter in him that he's come such a long way in terms of his health. He's seemed at peace with himself, and gets love and adulation wherever he goes.
Very emotional programme. I mistakenly thought it was a series, couldn't understand why the series link wouldn't work. There are so many wonderful battles that could have made a series worth recording and keeping. But alas a one off. If you didn't see it the go to ITV Player. Sad old me is going to watch it again.
Great programme, I saw the documentary "Thriller in Manilla" a couple of weeks ago. Joe Frazers' trainer pulled him out near the end and Frazer never forgave him but the trainer said he'd seen 8 men die in the ring and didn't want to make it 9 a proper trainer looking after his man. If only the prat in the hat had done that for Mcklenan. I'm glad Benn has found peace and there's been some closure he was a hero of mine when I was young
