Dave Whelan as been charged by the FA with aggravated breach of its rules following the comments he made against the Jewish and Chinese people.
But what we have herd is that the comments were made following an interview with Guardian newspaper after the appointment of Malky Mackay as the new latics manager who himself is still under investigation.
So there are at least 3 things that could happen now
    1. Dave Whelan could step down as chairman of wigan athletics
2.he could appeal against the ruling.
3.the one which I hope he will do is take that upperclass rag to court to clear his good name and hopefully the FA will drop all charge's
So know its a game of wait and see

The Guardian is far from an upperclass rag - don't be fooled by the size of paper upon which it is printed.
I generally like Dave Whelan and haven't read what he is alleged to have said, but if it is the working classes you generally side with ( I guess that from your "upperclass rag" comment) then remember Whelan was the one who wanted a minute's silence at all football matches when Witch Thatcher turned up her toes.
I like MM, again I don't know what he is alleged to have said, but he's a good manager and I hope he does very well with the Latics...
Good luck for the rest of the season. :)
    (except against us, obviously ;))
