Minnows often beat the big fish in the cup competitions so this is nothing new is it? Only it's a LOT sweeter when it happens to Arsenal ay?
Arsene should stand for parliament, he has all the right attributes. 1. Oblivious to public opinion 2. Always right 3. Never at fault 4 Black is white 5 Quietly spoken when ranting 6 Never lets the truth stand in his way 7 Supports the status quo 8 Never spends his own money 9 Mistakes are bad luck 10 The other side is always wrong 11 Promises glory 12 Delivers **** all.
Arsenal fans are saying last night put paid to their record of never losing to lower league opposition in the cups. So much for having long memories: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/league_cup/9342035.stm
Memory playing tricks again. I think we might be a bit previous talking about the fall of Arsenal. I'd prefer to call it the wobbling of Arsenal and hope beyond hell that they do fall and heavily. But they've been at the top or thereabouts a long time now so it's difficult to see it happening.
Denial has always been Wenger's speciality. I think I've said this before, but he's starting to remind me of the sword fight between The Black Knight & The King in Monty Python & The Holy Grail..." It's only a flesh wound"....
Although seeing them lose to Bradford with a full team was absolutely priceless, I'm trying not too say much. last season we were 13 points ahead and finished behind them. They've already beaten us 5-2 this season as well. What ever reasons/excuses we can come up with, such as "harry was thinking about the england job", "we didn't rotate the squad enough last season" or "we would have beaten them this season if Adebayor wasn't sent off", - it doesn't change the facts. I'm being very careful. All the piss taking could bite us in the arse again and the season is far from over.
Roo, the game against us is the only game they've been up for this season, we've become their Cup Final as they can't get into a real one anymore.
Don't they hold the record for the largest disparity between league teams in a cup upset? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/14338693 Literally bottom vs top.
They're replaying the match. Arsenal's lawyers are doubtless checking every bit of paperwork as we speak...
On CNN tonight Matt Fortune of the Fail states that Arsend should go this season but feels that he'll see out his contract which has 18 months to run. He says Arsenal fans have been fed lies and that he shouldn't be sacked because of his record. Hard act to follow. I wonder who'll they'll get.
If they want a manager with a philosophy of attractive football and sour grapes, they can always bring in Tony Mowbray.
I haven't a clue who Tony Mowbray is and I'm not ashamed to admit it and I don't really want to know. They'll get somebody successful and high powered to keep them up at the top, they always do.
A quick recap of Tony Mowbray's career: * Had Hibs playing good football, turned the club into a personality cult * Had West Brom playing good football, got them into the Premier League, was replaced by Roy Hodgson as he was rapidly taking them out of it * Spent a season in charge of Celtic complaining that Rangers didn't play pretty football and muttering about conspiracies * Currently in charge of Middlesbrough Basically, if you put Wenger and Dalglish in a blender, you get Mowbray.
RDM was sacked by West Brom and replaced by Hodgson. Mowbray got them relelegated and left for Celtic.
Easy to get them confused - looked good in the Championship, looked hapless in the Premier League. The difference is Mowbray was allowed to finish the job, Di Matteo wasn't.
