If you took away the money the Play Off Final loss realised and the brilliant achievements last year resulting in more TV monies, then the answer for the return would be very very little.

But it's all a gamble. Dave Whelan, John Madjeski (sp?) and Mohamed Al Fayed all gambled and won by getting their teams to the top flight where Wigan and Fulham stayed for years and years. How did they do what we cant seem to ? Did they have a plan, better advisors....?

I'm not including the stadium development in all of this as part of the funding will have come from the Football League and probably from sponsors.

Perhaps they wanted it more than us and were prepared for the fight. We aren't ,and can't seem to get it right no matter how hard we want to succeed.

So what point are you making? On another thread you are questioning if the redeveloped stadium is necessary [It is!], and want money pumped in. One latter cannot be done without former, unless you are an advocate of bending rules / cheating.

I'm not including the stadium development in all of this as part of the funding will have come from the Football League ... That funding is minuscule in comparison to Mr Lansdown financing.

Each Chairman used different means. Al Fayeds losses were astronomical. Wigan had small manageable debts - smaller than Citys. Reading have been thrifty, buying low, selling high even making profits which was invested in infra structure / offset losses in previous seasons.
