Seems illogical he would defend himself in court, but not defend himself against a body who is not fit to pass such a judgement. Their handling of the whole issue has been farcical.
He had no defence to the FA charge mate, he used those words and tbh his defence was pretty pathetic. I thought the criminal charge was a waste of public money, however it is beyond all doubt(and he admitted it) that he used language likely to cause offence.
I was under the impression that part of the reasoning they gave for their guilty verdict was the context in which they believed he used it. That was essentially the crux of the court case in which he was found not guilty.
