Uefa probably gave a 3 match ban knowing there would be an appeal. The FA would be derelict in their duty if they didn't appeal. Also, Rooney's reaction showed some maturity..he put his hands up to it and didn't argue as he left the field. I am not a fan of the man, on or off the field, but I'm not going to get on a soap box about Eufa's decision. There are far worse things, including spitting and racism (as mentioned by others).
