Can't stand Savage but have to say loved his co-commentary tonight. Honest and passionate. Sounded like he was loving the experience.

Oh and COME ON LINCOLN (even though they sacked their manager last week)

This weekend there will be five of our Hampshire bredren competing in the FA cup first round. Will be interesting to see who progresses furthest.

Sat:

Basingstoke Town vs Telford
Eastleigh vs Lincoln City

Sun:

Gosport Borough vs Colchester
Portsmouth vs Aldershot

(Am I missing anyone?)

No! We want Eastleigh to win that!

Agree with the comments on Savage last night - don't normally enjoy his commentary or punditry at all - but last night showed exactly why Phil Neville got so much stick in the World Cup

Exeter is obviously South, but with some matches, do you get the atlas out, TSS, to see which is the most southerly town. :)

No, but that was obvious.

Bear in mind that my default stance is... don't give a ****. When I can be bothered to care I'd rather have a Southern based team win over a Northern based team. In the case of Aldershot v Pompey it's simply a matter of wanting the smaller team to win, so I guess that is Aldershot. Remarkably..!

I'm obviously a "beige" sort of chap. Disliked Neville's mumblefest and found Savage a loud, repetative irritant last night.

Give me passion and excitement but with some relevant information or opinion/analysis included please.

Great result last night, the magic of the cup strikes again!! Glad bbc have it back as well their coverage is so much better than itv's. The beeb really do seem to be trying to push the magic of the cup this year n get people to fall back in love with it, which is great imo. I look forward to seeing scores today and the draw on Monday.

Let's hope the skates can get through a couple of rounds n earn a trip to St Marys eh <whistle>.....

Well, as the principal domestic cup competition, it has been cruelly pushed around SKY style TV coverage. The FA did enough damage to it by allowing its date to be altered and fitted within schedules. It's the mark of the esteem a competition whether it works around schedules or schedules work around it. The FA Cup Final should be the last domestic game of the season, as it always was.

I agree it should always be the last game of the season, don't know if it's due to be this year.
