Palace will start getting decisions, and he'll be harsh on Utd, an evener, just wait and see, its in the post.

I must admit I'm struggling to see why he didn't play advantage for the second one. The first one I can see why he blew because he went to ground but the second one was strange.

Watch the replay of the first one, he blows the whistle when Wickham is up and running again

    Borderline. But always funny.

TBH the second decision was silly, no need to blow at all. At least in the first Wickham had gone to ground.

Replays are misleading though. He blew the whistle before he saw the advantage.

No, he is blowing it as he gets up.

Because he's Mark Clattenburg, Tom, and he's bigger than the occasion. I DO so wish he'd just let play go on and not spend his time on the whistle?
Imagine if he does that in the Champions League final? He'd be lynched! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Sorry Dave but that's completely wrong. He knew he should have played advantage, he seemed to apologise to the Palace players.

I agree that the commentators are maybe slighty overboard but they weren't tough decisions, pretty basic errors that a ref of his standing shouldn't be making.

Agree the second was worse though.

Clattenburg's definitely got better over the past few years, he used to seem to seek the attention too much.

But today feels like he's gone back a little, making sure he's getting noticed as being on top of the Final. Don't think the decisions are as awful as the pundits are suggesting....no guarantee the first wove been a goal, De Gea had certainly stopped.. 2nd Rojo stopped at the whistle too, who knows what would've happened.

ManU need to take Carrick off, get Morgan on....or if Rooneys going to carry on at DMC then bring Lingard on. Carricks doing very little other than slow sideways passes

I think Clattenburg will be very annoyed with himself at HT. He has set himself high standards and he doesn't need telling he's fallen short of those. But what I can't stand is people saying he's a buffoon or he shouldn't be refereeing the big games. He's had far more good games than bad ones in his career and he keeps up with play better than any other referee.

Also, he has got every decision right. Fouls given were fouls. Fouls not given weren't. He was a bit quick on the whistle - but the decisions were right.

There were a number of times, in that half, when a Utd player went to ground, but MC waited to see if an advantage occurred.
On those occasions the build up, of Utd's attacks, was very slow and allowed the ref to be closer to the action. The Palace two, were quicker passes, leaving MC a little behind play and, IMO, he wasn't close enough, or at a good enough angle, to see the advantage.

Nothing that has set foot on the pitch since 4pm has been good. They all sort of deserve each other.

He decided not to award advantage, twice, this was not the correct decision.
