A professional player should show respect to other teams!! What example is this to the fans?

****, but we are fans not professional footballers.

There's a time and a place and it probably isn't right for a professional footballer to be singing what is a derogatory song live on television. There's no harm, but it probably isn't the best example or the right thing to do.

If I was Wenger I'd have binned him for what he's not done on the pitch, let alone what he has done off the pitch.

Yeah, he should probably act all grown up in public. But he's a young man out with his mates, he's just won the FA cup, and he might even have been -gasp- drinking.

Whether people agree with this or not, footballers are paid millions and do carry a burden of responsibility. At the very least he should know what is and what is not appropriate. He could have been drunk and singing Arsenal, Arsenal. Arsenal... Fine.

I'm still waiting for all that supposed potential to actually amount to something.

The trouble with Wilshere is that he believes the hype and thinks he's better than he actually is. He's been average for ages now. He just another footballer who has let the adulation and money turn him into a spoilt brat and will probably never realise his potential. Thank goodness the Saints lads keep their feet on the ground .

I don't recall too many complaints from Southampton fans, when on the final day of our league 1 promotion season, whilst the fans stood on the pitch and the team gathered in front of the clock in the Itchen and the players sang along to "we're coming for you... we're coming for you, you dirty skate bastards, we're coming for you..."

I actually really liked it. In that moment the players seemed like more than just employees.

Did that make Sky News headlines? Did Deano grab the mic and lead the song?

You'll find it probably didn't as it wasn't Arsenal. Media hate us for some reason..... will find any excuse to pounce and unfortunately young Jack gave it to them.

Am I the only one who found what Wilshere did funny?

He's just poking fun at their rivals. Football has become waaay too sterile these days.

I don't find it particularly funny, but then I'm not an Arsenal fan. It certainly isn't an awful thing, especially if you compare it to what those Leicester players did.

He's just secured his place in North London folklore! Evertonian mates of mine still remember Emlyn Hughes holding aloft the European Cup in '77 and singing "Liverpool are magic;Everton are tragic" Even when the poor bugger fell off the twig he wasn't forgiven by the Bluenoses!

Why are people so easily offended? It's not like the language isn't heard week in, week out, in the stands at games. It's nothing out of the ordinary, but of course people will have some kind of problem with it. I guess they feel it gives them some sense of moral high ground over a 23 year old millionaire footballer.

A professional is just defined as someone who gets paid to do a certain profession - a professional footballer gets paid to play football - there's a lot of them in the UK - and anyone who's got a job is a professional - the term only implies a professional attitude in as much as you get sacked if you step too far out of line. Footballing is for boys and young men who don't really get to grow up until their career is over!

I posted it so I'll take that as aimed at me. I just thought it was daft and unnecessary, especially considering the number of faux pas' he has had.

I didn't have to go very high to reach that ground.
