In a nutshell. As far as competition is concerned in Spain, all it seems to serve is 2 or 3 clubs at the top. Sorry, but that isn't my idea of competition. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the likes of Macclesfield or Grimsby Town can stand alongside the Liverpools and Chelseas. They should be nobody's feeder.
So I guess this means the loan system is on the scrapheap. Football League clubs rely on loan players from bigger clubs to survive. I think this will reduce the standard of players in the lower leagues to be honest.
Another FA farce. The only miracle about football in this country is how it manages to continue to operate, despite the FA "governing" it. Which clubs and which levels of football need the most financial assistance? The small clubs and grassroots football. Which clubs do the FA propose helping the most? The richest Premier League clubs. Brilliant. ****ing Brilliant.
Arsene Wenger talking sense on Sky Sports News. Comparing the situation to a student in school. If you put them in a good class, they will perform better, but if you put them in a bad class, then their progress will be hampered. Surely playing, or even training, with top class players, including those who are 'foreign', will improve them more than dumping them in a league above the conference, where the futures of the clubs in there will be damaged by the move.
Yep, and these are the people I would rather listen to, than a bunch of England rejects, failed managers, and Chief executives.
and who REALLY cares about England that much? The whole point of football isn't the national team, its club football. I seem to recall that apart from when we had the world cup in our own country, we've on the whole, been pretty crap at international football for 50+ years. And for most of that, when the domestic top division was completely dominated by English players.
Man from Football League, he say no. http://www.football-league.co.uk/fo...-chairmans-england-commission_2293334_3813507 As you were then.
To summarise "FA have spunked out another stupid half-baked idea from a panel of "experts" who are not experts because they want some magical quick fix to a problem that isn't a problem and Greg Dyke loves appearing on TV"
I don't like the B league idea, but on your last point ... it will give more youngsters a chance to play at those lower league clubs.
No, I said I care. I am English and would like the national team to be able to compete properly. Put two paths in front of me, point a gun and say take a path... you won't need the gun, I'll follow the Saints path. I still would like England to be developing players in a different way and care that we have a **** national team and as you said earlier, have done for years. I don't like this latest idea, but doesn't stop me wanting us to develop grass roots players to a better level and eventually a better national team.
What an awful, awful idea. "I know, lets just ruin the football league for the sake of it" A much better idea would be to re-establish a reserve league in a tiered system. This way teams mix their first teamers with youth, and they can learn from the already established stars. Try and generate interest by having the games just after league games in already full stadiums, and even have a reserve cup to generate more interest. A long with this I would still keep the Under-21 / Development squad leagues. This way players move up through the system in levels when they are ready, and the ones that take longer to bloom arent hindered
