Slovakia can play football... Southgate has far far superior players but can't coach.

I just wish we had played as well as Belgium. The result doesn’t really matter, not really. It’s the performance which counts, honestly.

Maybe people will now realise that in tournament football it’s only the result that counts and maybe, hopefully acknowledge that it doesn’t matter how you play so long as you win.

It is about the result. But the performance last night was poor.

That’s all I really have to say about it. When we come up against better teams we need to be much better.

Southgate this is your last throw of the dice so you may as well try.

Belgium in the last decade have had the best rated (ranked) team in Europe
yet fail every time when it matters
they're worse than Newcastle

It's all about the world Cup when Southgate is gone. The problem is they'll probably replace him with another one of their mates.
 
The outstanding team I've seen in the tournament up to now isn't us.
Hope that Southgate gets the team attacking better, but I'm not convinced he'll see anything wrong with his tactics.
There's still hope though.
