Lallana is your typical squad player imo. Does enough but will never be a consistent match winner. He got the ball into the final third but the second he sniffed their 18 yard area he puckered up and didnt know what to do. If he continues to start I dont see us having that cutting edge or being very prolific. I also think there are a few too many like him in the squad.

I thought Walker was very impressive, high energy, good strength and more often than not, a good end product. Kane was poor by his standards, he should have been replaced by Vardy for the second half, if nothing else it would have given Woy a look at the various options. And why does Kane take corners, FFS, the guy is 6ft plus, he is an excellent header and has the skill to pounce on any second ball - change it Woy, get Rooney to take corners...................

The thing with Lallana is that's his position. We aren't trying to shoehorn someone into the side by playing them out of position, which we would be if Vardy replaced him for instance.
I think he should keep his place.

Agree on Kane and corners, your centre forward should be in the box for set pieces, not taking them.

Get a full back to whip one over.

Who are these English dickheads who always look for trouble and kick off at any major tournament. I know Russian supporters were involved last night, but a sizeable number of English followers haven't covered themselves in glory so far. Why is it that these morons can't simply enjoy the travel, have a few beers, enjoy the local atmosphere - no - it's always the same............. way too much to drink, trouble brews, trouble finds them - and it's off. mercifully the domestic game seems to have stamped out the worst of it, but this mindless few still seem to exist in some underclass, some dark world where being a complete knob is considered as a prize.

This year, of all years, when the team does seem to have some genuine class to it, it would be a real shame if UEFA were to kick us out due to the actions of a few thugs. Hopefully there will be extra police for the next match and they will crack a few heads at the first sign of trouble.

Russia handed a suspended ban by UEFA. Any more trouble and they're gone.

Best performance so far last night, by Italy.

At the end I turned to my eldest and said you should never rule out Italy. Two minutes later Lineker repeated the same thing.

How to defend? Watch that last night, absolutely magic as the Belgium 'attackers' bounced off the Italian defenders who were barely breaking sweat.

How ****e was Lukaku by the way? Sixty million my ****ing arse. That Naingollan looks tripe as well.

    Not at all.

Happy as a pig in ****e actually, just won a good bundle from a tip at Ascot. Pays for a wedge and umbrella I bought yesterday.

Which I'm about to go and try out actually, what's to be miserable about?

You always seem to get great value for money at tournaments from Italy, win, lose or draw they always seem to play with great flair and passion. Very solid at the back (Darmian played well) and de Rossi was massive. Conte was manic, not sure how he will react from the sidelines when Chelsea play like donkeys again - could be great fun to watch him next season.

Looks like it's about to kick off again by a few things I just seen online, good to see the English and Welsh standing side by side

Hmmm... I'd have to say that with a more coordinated attack, Italy won't get such an easy ride. Couple that with the fact Lukaku and Origi bot missed sitters, and you have to say that Belgium were as much responsible for their loss as Italy were their win. I reckon it'll be about the club that peaks at the right time, and these first round of games will mean very little as an indicator, by the time we get to the knockouts.

I'm English - can you please explain 'knockout stages' - not a term I'm used to.

The 200 polish fans arrested after yesterday's game have been found guilty of violent disorder and been deported back to England!

Or maybe Italy's defensive excellence is what gave themselves an easy ride.

I can't see why you should damn them with such faint praise, Belgium were made to look **** by a well organised team.

    Italy were excellent.
