Here's my take on the whole.competition. I think that England have a manager and squad that possibly overachieved, however took advantage of the groups they were in and used that well to get to the final. I think we have players that can play in different formations for different opponents which is something we haven't always been able to do, mix things up.
Players that i think proved they are 11/10 Saka, Sterling, Rice (i didnt rate him that much but then again I don't watch alot of premiership footie), Philips (he managed to control his temper as I was sure he would get a red), Stones, Shaw and Walker
I also thought Pickford played very well and was not sure he would be number one. The defence as a whole (regardless of who played) all played well.
Opponents:- Scotland. They were the one side that managed to stop England from playing....It is a shame they did not take the same approach with their other opponents.
When I saw the first game Italy v Turkey I though that Italy would be team to reach final 4 however I thought that Spain would win.
England fans: The ones that can support without getting completely drunk before the game, the ones that can make an atmosphere are the ones that I want to see at the games not the drunk ones or the ones that verbally abuse others. And so far as the twats that stormed Wembley, I hope you can hold your heads with pride when EUFA decide not to award England any championships for a long time..
And the abusive keyboard warriors....would love to see you perform in front of millions and have the guts to take a penalty in an extremely stressful situation. Im not a fan of the arty farty ones, but the ones that are low and hard in a corner or the ones that threaten to bury the keeper in the net along with the ball.

Hope the players get a well deserved rest and take one step further in the world cup. Maybe my score predictions will have picked up by then.....but then dont bet on it .

apparently most of the abuse came from outside the uk

Comfort Spin
Generally post tournament physical and English digital actions looked an embarrassment to me. Racists here Racists all around the world.

Enjoyed the Tournament very much and a missed opportunity for England. Doubt if the parameters will ever be as favourable again.
But they made the final so brilliant imo

Bit of long shot dream that England can be considered WC contenders for me but you never know

So either Boris has cancelled a Downing Street reception for the England Team or they have refused to go..

Wonder which one is the truth..

Is he too cowardly to face them face to face...or have they put their foot down.

There is no good spin on this one Boris!

(I bet we get told there was never a reception planned in the first place,)

Does anyone really care ?

This is a depressing first hand account of a fan at Wembley on Sunday. As someone who has been a regular visitor to the 'new' Wembley since it opened I may think twice about going again with my grandsons who are both desperate to see England at Wembley. A fairly shameful showing from a yob element who are making a comeback...

However shocking people found the scenes that took place…let’s be honest, it’s nothing new and only making the news ‘cos it happened here and was such a big occasion.
Anyone who has followed England abroad would have seen this sort of thing before.

It doesn't bother me personally. I've seen that from the late 60s onwards. I don't want my two grandsons aged 8 and 7 being caught up in that sh*t. Most internationals I've been to have been with family and they've often been great nights out, this looked more like organised thuggery rather than random. I thought we were past all that but this shows it's not going away...

To be honest though, from the video of when the doors were being ‘stormed’….most of the ones who I saw didn’t seem to fit the general description of your average England football thug…..seemed to be a lot of opportunists trying to get in, one way or another. The ones who seemed to fit the bill more were the ones dishing out blows TO the invaders (including a young lad who got belted.
Agree with what you say about the family atmosphere now at most Wembley matches….
