Unlucky tonight St Badger, still reckon Romania will go through.

Congratulations to France for being the first team through the last 16...<whistle>

Hard luck Romania. Probably deserved a point but beaten by a moment of brilliance.

Which will be a worry for France. Didn't much look like breaking them down but for that. Mind you, we know how hard it is to break down a well organised, stubborn team.

Really should have played Coman from the off ;)

Well done France. What took you so long?

TBH that's the first time I've seen Romania play, and even then I only saw the second half.
Are the other teams, in the group, worse? Thought "my boys" we're very disorganised, and lacking a proper shape, especially in midfield.

Yeah I know it's crazy isn't it?! The one bad thing about this extended format imo.
Agree - because I like the fact that it becomes a real knockout for the last 16. This has got to be better than straight into a quarter finals from the groups. This, coupled with the number of decent teams who have one or two outstanding players, means it should be a better showcase both on an individual and team basis. One off cup ties always give the chance of an upset and anyone who gets through the groups is only three matches from the final - anything could happen.

Swiss 1-0 up early on.

The way they've started is how I wish England would play - getting the ball forwards quickly. A few times they could have passed it sideways along the backline but instead the full backs race up and they work the ball quickly to the wings in advanced positions. Hope Roy does something similar!
