Sir Rickie Lambo giving it large on SSN this morning, praising Lallana and the other players he think will do well for England, he is still worth listening to at any time.
Does anyone actually understand this? In the knockout stages, we have a couple of matches where the winner of the group (eg. Group D) plays the 3rd place of many groups (eg. Groups B, E and F) ... how do they decide which one of the third placed teams actually qualify to play that match? I can't seem to find an explanation anywhere!!
Yeah we went through all 36 games last night to piece together some accumulators and once you work out who's through it makes sense. Only 4 third places go through so you might be able to discard A and C for example. You can't play against a team from your group until the final if you are winner from said group. It seems complicated but once you get into it it makes sense.
The best four third placed teams qualify to the knockout stages. Once these are decided the third placed teams are sequentially placed into the four vacant positions. Thus if the best third placed teams were in groups A-D, these would be put into the four positions in this order, so as to prevent one team having a much greater rest period than another. Hope that explanation makes sense: this may help: http://euro2016.eurosport.co.uk/
Will have ot wait and see how it pans out, but feels like for the 3rd place teams those playing last in the group stage will have a potential advantage (it could easily come down to GD or even goals scored.....potential for some dodgy results?!)
Get your bloody hands out of your pockets and then you might be able to shake the hands of the dignitaries who've lined up to shake yours. Jeez, who brought these kids up.?
Such an uninspiring bunch! Watched the documentary by Alan Shearer about the Euro 96 squad last week and couldn't help but contrast the characters then to the bland media-trained players of today, who are so far removed from the real world.
Remember seeing that was on and there was a film on the other side. Almost decided to watch the film but in the end was jumping up from the sofa at 4 and 5-1. Last time I was properly excited by England. That was a few years ago. You realise it predates widescreen TV transmissions. From a football perspective, it predates WGS at Southampton. Getting the sense of time passing now.?
Too right, just 4 days to go for some football action on the pitch. France v Romania or the liebherr legacy v st badger
