    Did I say that?
I said "Do you want to reduce the national debt or increase it?"
The only options must be increase, decrease or stay the same.
    Don't you understand that?

    Everyone understands that.

You asked that question in reply to me pointing out that austerity was **** and wasn't intended to reduce the debt. It hasn't and won't.
If your question had nothing to do with that, then why ask it?

The Tories seemed determined to increase it dramatically whilst wittering on about austerity. Now they've got a couple of new soundbites in JAMs and Brexit means Brexit. Even as a Tory I think they've done a **** job.

Will someone tell this daft **** that under the Tories austerity measures, they've actually managed to increase the National debt by £600BN - which is nearly double what Labour added to it from '97 until '09 - which included the bail outs in '08.

I was trying to find out whether you wanted to increase or reduce the national debt. I get the impression you don't want to answer though. That says a lot.

Why would anyone want to increase the national debt? You'd want to reduce it, ideally.

I'm sure that he's seen those figures, Tobes. He's an accountant, after all.
The bigger the number, the smaller the debt, right? <whistle>

so then you have to make tough decisions
it's easy for people to say that you should tax the rich more
if you try to tax the risk it reduces the tax income because rich people leave the country or work less hard
there's more to be done in chasing people for tax they owe but it wouldn't make a lot of difference to the overall figures

    It depends!
If you have a good investment opportunity it usually pays to borrow money to make it happen faster. If your current spending is higher than your income, covering that through debt is rarely a good idea. The current Govt is ideologically adverse to the former and so lacking in competence that the latter is occurring.

The Tories you are devoted to have increased the national debt significantly. Clearly you're too ****ing stupid to understand that you're arguing against yourself <laugh>
