You're simply repeating the original point I made, so the answer is the same, sadly, like me, they need to try harder or accept being pigeon holed by the ignorant and ill-informed.

To take your analogy further if the papers only reported when the driver was a Muslim, then the perception would be that it was Muslim drivers that held the most danger towards children.

That's how these rags work, take a story that might suit their agenda and lead with the race or religion, as if that is the root cause of the issue. So the issue goes from being about poor driving to one of Muslims being crap drivers, running over white kids, and you're paying for it!

The right wing press have been drip feeding idiots like Pete for a generation with this sort of manipulated ****e.

 

His post is pretty much the same as several of mine. I went further and pointed out that the left wing media drip feeds the other morons too. If anything, they're in greater numbers.

Pissing about squealing about who is worse resolves **** all. Neither side covers the muslims distancing themselves from the terrorists very well at all.

Oh behave, the left wing press in this country basically consists of the Mirror, and I'd argue they were more slightly left centric than left wing anyway.

There's a massive right wing bias in our current media and this is reflected in the way a lot of people in this country view the issues at hand.

Murdoch has been the King maker of British politics for over 30 years, his rags provided those stupid enough to form their opinions from a slanted media, with their ready made viewpoint.

How many Muslims do you actually know? Why wouldn't Muslims distance themselves from people who are using their religion to justify acts of terror that bears no relations whatsoever to the religion that they follow or the beliefs that they hold? You're proving the point btw.

 

Your last paragraph makes less sense than your cobblers normally does.

Do you see everything in life as a challenge to be won or lost? Attitudes liked yours hinder more than they help, and simply stifles debate.

There is a agreement on here that muslims have a PR issue, and the media are a part of that problem.

Why not join the rest of us and put some positive thought in to how that can be remedied, rather than pissing about as you do.

Those with an agenda begin with that and then write or edit the story to slant it to that agenda.

Steven made a very good point. If you keep insinuating something into the minds of people, particularly some of the simpletons who read The Sun, etc, then they will eventually become indoctrinated into the way you want them to think.

It is this association of the word Muslim with something bad that has happened that seeps through into the heads of those that the writer of the piece intended the message to reach.

When I tried to google this story only 2 newspapers came up. This one and The Star. That's the problem with news bias. If they had been found guilty I can imagine how many would've had it as front page news.

 

People would get that same message whichever mainstream media outlet they chose. They're all equally at fault. It's part of what I've said many times when mentioning factors that lead to the brexit vote.

The bigger question is what can be done? I believe there's an opportunity for unity and understanding, it needs focus though, not side agendas.

 

That's another issue, entirely.

This is the problem, of let's be honest, a largely right wing press, attempting to indoctrinate people with the deliberate biased slant they put in their stories.

They do, or have done, the same thing with the unemployed, the disabled, Immigrants in general, and whoever and whatever is their current bete noir.

 

I've complained all along about bias in the mainstream media. I think the US elections are opening it up wide. America is far worse, but we're terrible ourselves.

The question is, can anything be done? I think it would be an opportunity if something happened that highlighted it, and the lack of coverage of muslims opposing terrorism would be a unifying cause.
